Escaperoom-Zone Battle Creek — Attraction in Battle Creek

This was our second escape room adventure. It was the literal worst experience ever. It was for my birthday, so we rented the room for just my husband and I for 1 hour, which cost us about $140. That wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if the clues are weren’t so clueless. I’m not claiming to be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am usually good at these type games, and the clues were very difficult to even read. It looked like a kindergartner wrote the letters and numbers on things, and was smeared and very faint. The person who was supposed to help us with hints was difficult to understand, she sounded muffled and wasn’t clear. We never made it past the first room, which was not fun at all, and a complete waste of time and money. Hands down, worst birthday...

I’ve done over 100 escape rooms in the last 6 years and this one is by far the worst room I’ve ever seen or done. I had to walk out of the room and give the walkie-talkie back after so long. It’s so much to type why but the room wasn’t set up right had to wait an extra 20 min for that and in the room half the locks were already opened. Couldn’t even communicate with the host to get a clue to figure out why stuff was missing or to get an answer on how to move forward with the room. It’s only 1 room at this location for a reason and they might as well shut it down. Not trying to be funny but I would rather give my $29 to a homeless person or charity then do that room. The staff was friendly and it had a lot of potential! A few of the key mechanisms were broken including the final door. Might be damage from previous groups. All in all it was frustrating and seemingly disorganized. I bear no ill will and hope to continue supporting local business, but I wouldn't spend $27 per individual for another...
