We went to One nation on 06/06/2024 to watch football. Since, it is the beginning of the season we were hyped about it so we brought some of our friends that never been there. We never had problems at One Nation when we have outing with my company before, but that night was different. Also, our skin color is brown and we are young. You’ll understand why I wrote that in at the end. At first it was just four of us there and we asked for a table in the corner since there is a big TV across. Our waitress did not have a problem with it. She checked all our IDs and we began our night. About an hour later we had 2 of our friends join us. Our waitress checked their ID but a friend of mine forgot his ID in the car so he went back to grab it and later show her the ID. The night was going smooth until the manager, Krystal, saw me pour my drink to a friend since I couldn’t finish it. Without being professional and following any steps or procedure she automatically made her assumptions of us and the situation. She quickly came to our table to grab his drink and told us he was a minor and that we were done. The way she handled the situation was very disrespectful. She did not give us a chance to prove she was wrong so I had to repeat to her several times to check his ID, and finally when she decided to give us a chance, she took a look at his ID just to find out he was over the age of 21. Because of their lack of communication within the staff, it put all of us in that embarrassing situation. We asked her why she couldn’t just ask for his ID if she was feeling suspicious, her only response was “your group is shady and we been keeping our eyes on your group since the beginning” without any evidence to support that crazy statement. She did not try to deescalate the situation or even thought about apologizing for causing that situation. A customer had to apologize to us about the situation and even told Krystal our group is not shady as she assumed. We might look young and the way we dress might give off different energy but some of us are teachers at lakeview and some of us are managers at our company. This is the first time in our life where we felt disrespected. For some background information, we are all Asian, and we felt racially discriminated because of this event. The whole night Krystal was more focused on making excuses and trying to convince us we were in the wrong so we decided to cash and leave. I asked her if they take Apple Pay since I usually just bring my phone and ID with me. She said “if we have Apple Pay, we would’ve advertise it up front, right?”. That left me speechless. Not only Krystal caused that situation but she still had the audacity to be rude from the beginning to the end. We are still wondering how a person like Krystal is a manager. A Manager with no communication skills or problem...
Read morePurchased during their soft opening. I will post a full review after the manager calls back to verify our experience. Update: I did speak with the manager, he was polite and interested in our experience. Keep in mind, this was a pick up order and we are less than a 5 minutes drive from them. Here were my recommendations: Need to revise the brisket chili, it tasted like tomato paste and made a super huge potato that I was really looking forward to inedible. The flank steak was supposed to be medium rare, but it was super rare and super chewy. No one ate this, or the fries. There were no banana peppers on the brisket sandwich, and they used red onions instead of white onions which could have been caramelized. The brisket itself was okay, but could have used more aioli. Everything was packaged together, so the fries tasted like they had been microwaved and the chips were not crunchy. The corn bread waffles were missing some crunch, and packaged with the pulled pork, ended up soggy. The pork pinwheels were okay and probably would taste better fresh out of the fryer. The fat rolls were also okay. They were better after a few minutes in the air fryer. Also recommended writing what was ordered on the containers. While I understand it's a soft opening, I would have expected the order to take longer, but it was actually really fast. However I would not have traded speed for quality. My disappointment in the steak and the potato, where it's hard to blame on anything other than a poor recipe choice or rushing your line cooks, means that I probably won't be...
Read moreLooks can be deceiving. The Very clean and fancy atmosphere, paired with artisan looking dishes quickly fades with the inspection and consumption of the overly priced products. What looks good on paper, as well as presentation of the product, turns out to be very small portions of quickly thrown together mediocre food. Fried products are extremely dried out, meats are bland and dry, and most things are paired with terrible house made potato chips. I was very disappointed with my meal, as well as the 5 other guests that were with me. My 11 year old included, whom ordered the kids mac and cheese ($9), and received a small portion cup of mac and cheese (The equivalent of three bites) and the same terrible potato chips that he refused to eat, needles to say, I still had to feed him when we returned home. As this is a bar I assumed I would at least enjoy my drink, simple (Jack and coke), but alas, for a $6 shot of Jack I could not even taste the iconic sour mash whisky in my drink as if only half a shot or less was poured. Our bill was separated and I payed for me, my son, and 2 others, costing $90 for 4 people. That's $90 for food and drink, when I have had dinner for 4 elsewhere with much better quality for only $40. Save Your Money and go somewhere like Miller's Time Out, or Players. Not to mention the 3% charge added for using our debit card to pay. I get it, a small amount is charged for every card transaction to the business, but its not usually a percent, its a fixed fee per card transaction, and most businesses take that fee as an...
