A beautiful event to see at EPCOT during Christmas. The EPCOT Candlelight Processional is a wonderful holiday tradition that takes place every year at Walt Disney World Resort's EPCOT theme park. The event typically runs from late November to late December and is held in the park's America Gardens Theatre. The Candlelight Processional is a retelling of the Christmas story through music and narration, featuring a mass choir, live orchestra, and celebrity guest narrators. The performance typically lasts around 45 minutes and includes a combination of traditional Christmas carols and religious hymns. The show is led by a celebrity guest narrator, who reads the biblical story of Christmas from the Gospel of Luke. Past narrators have included celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, and Trace Adkins. On this particular night we were treated to Mr Daymond John who did a wonderful job! The choir, made up of hundreds of singers from local schools and churches, wears traditional robes and performs classic Christmas songs like "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night." The live orchestra, led by a conductor, provides accompaniment to the choir and also performs instrumental pieces like "The Nutcracker Suite." The centerpiece of the Candlelight Processional is the lighting of the traditional Christmas candles, which are distributed to the audience during the show. As the choir sings "Silent Night," the audience is invited to light their candles and join in singing along. Overall, the EPCOT Candlelight Processional is a festive and inspiring holiday tradition that combines music, storytelling, and community spirit to create a memorable and magical experience for all who attend. I highly recommend...
Read moreThe American gardens theater sits directly across from the American Adventure. Is is a larger part covered theater which is basically open air. There are normally two entrances that are used. First is the one near the Japan pavillion. This is usually for people who had a dining reservation in order to secure seating. The other is near the Italy pavillion which is for the general public. It is primarily bench seating.
The base of the theater is level and then raises up for better viewing. Acoustics are great. The venue is used each year for festival celebrity concerts and during the Christmas season-the candlelight processional.
Since the theater is small there is standing room only outside the venue. I'm not sure if they permit this during the Candlelight processional since lines tend to build up fairly early for each of their 3 scheduled daily shows. Even if a show is not performing here it is still worth a look at this beautiful concert hall. Adding the cool breeze off the lagoon also helps keep you comfortable...
Read moreAbsolutely Breathtaking - A Must-See!" This was my fourth time experiencing the Candlelight Processional at Epcot this year, and it continues to surpass expectations. The performance was simply magical! Whoopi Goldberg as the narrator was truly exceptional. Her presence added a unique and captivating dimension to the already incredible storytelling. Having admired her in classics like "Ghost" and "Sister Act" with my mom, I was thrilled to see her bring her talent to this cherished holiday tradition. The entire cast, choir, and orchestra were phenomenal. The music was moving and the overall atmosphere was incredibly festive and heartwarming. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable holiday experience, I highly recommend the Candlelight Processional. It's a must-see for the whole family! Note: While I understand your enthusiasm for Whoopi Goldberg, it's subjective to declare her the "best actress on the whole planet." I hope this review captures the magic of...
