I'll begin by saying that my three daughters all LOVED this ride, but I was hoping for... more... I don't know what exactly, but the hype that had built up around the experience had my expectations higher than what was delivered. It's still a good ride.
It feels almost intimate the way they have the songs timed with the passage of your individual boat. So that's pretty neat, and they did a decent job of recreating the magical wisps of ice during Elsa's creation of her ice palace as she sings to you, but then, for no apparent reason, as she's singing sweetly to you, she reverses the direction of your watercraft, and you fall backward away from her. Then you come upon Marshmallow & some Snowgies. Marshmallow declares his freedom, and sends you down another slope.
Downside: Regardless of how good this ride is, if you don't have a Fastpass, like the song says, "let it go." When we went yesterday, there was a reported wait of 75 minutes on standby, which to me is not worth the wait. WITH a Fastpass, it still took more than 15 minutes.
With faces projected onto featureless surfaces, that kinda freak me out a little, the human characters remind me of a person with makeup on the face, but whose neck is a completely different color & texture.
Oddity: Once waiting inside, they recreated the feel of a Norwegian village festival at night, which is super cool. I would love to attend a festival in exactly this setting. However, those in attendance do not behave like festival guests, but like sweaty theme-park-goers, who are waiting in line, albeit in a very nice atmosphere. The juxtaposition of these two contrasting things felt odd to me, not bad, because I loved being in the cool dark air-conditioned room, just somehow odd.
How about something to entertain those...

Read moreArrived early and queued with reasonable times predicted. The ride closed without notice due to technical issues. No genie + options after we queued and Disney unwilling to give us a fast pass for later despite the technical failure.
Ride closed on and off for most of the day causing huge queues despite torrential rain storms. Having travelled from the UK with young tots who were huge frozen fans, and this being top of our list,(; it was a poor show.
4 days in Disney’s parks full of lots of big rides closed without announcements and lightening genie + passes used without any help to use the rides later on and waiting hrs until we could use them only to find the rides were closed has been a pretty poor experience of Disney. Animal kingdom was shambolic and the staff were equally miserable. Disney also tracks you throughout your stay which is slightly creepy. We only found out when we lost our tickets and they used facial recognition of various times we were in the parks where they took our photos without knowledge which we knew nothing about.
We are left with the impression Disney doesn’t care - despite our receipt for £2.3k (Uk sterling) for a 4 day parks pass plus hotels and the rest, where a lot of rides were closed for long periods or technical failures, there were just not enough rides and this inflated the queues. Shame on you Disney. Come to the UK and we will show you how to run a park and do...
