This is one of the best rides in the Animal Kingdom portion of Disney World. The ride is about the effects of deforestation on the environment and besides having a message about responsible use of the Earth, it is a water ride that results in a lot of splashing.
Disney does a great job of getting parks decorated in an eye-catching way that helps you to spend time while in line. This is no exception, being done as if a Buddhist temple.
Once you make your way through the line, you will mount a massive innertube type device that seats about six people. From there, you will make your way through a depiction of the forest that has been denuded of trees through over-logging.
It finishes in a large drop that typically results in people becoming soaked to the skin. Not a bad idea on some hot Florida days. In previous times, before COVID, there were additional opportunities to get wet as onlookers could spray you with fountains on your way to disembark.
Experienced travelers know that they should have extra clothes or rain coats to keep dry, or at least not to wear white t-shirts and pants. However you choose to dress, expect much water on this short...
Read moreThe Kali Rapids is a great option if you're looking to get absolutely soaked in the middle of a hot day. The line moves pretty quickly because the ride floats keep moving around a rotating platform. It can be a little stressing though as the group has to move quickly to get in, get seated, and seatbelts secured. I only have two real complaints: the ride doesn't last very long, and there isn't a "dry hold", which I thought it had when it first opened. So either make sure you've secured your items you don't wish to get wet in some sort of bag or other water-proof receptacle, or resign yourself to the fact that it will likely come out just as soggy as yourself. I knew I was going on this ride, and so I packed my Flip-flops to wear specifically so I didn't get my good Nikes soaked. There's nothing more uncomfortable than walking around half a day in the Florida heat in sopping...

This is my favorite ride in the park. Once I understood the back story it made more sense and I enjoyed it more. Be careful with little ones as the floor you walk on to get into the cart does go in circles. It is a moving ground. The whole family can get wet which is nice on a hot day. You can wear your rain coats to protect yourself or just go and get wet. There are lockers to store your bags if you really rather not risk getting your bags wet. The lockers are free. If you cannot get a locker just use a rain coat. Do not let the little things get in the way of enjoying this family fun adventure. I literally feel like a child when we are in line...
