Ratatouille at EPCOT is one of the most charming and immersive rides Disney has created in recent years. It blends storytelling, technology, and atmosphere so seamlessly that it feels like you’re stepping right into the animated world of the film. From the moment you enter the newly expanded France Pavilion, the experience begins. The area feels authentically Parisian, with detailed architecture, ambient music, and a vibrant setting that transports you before you even board the ride.

The queue is incredibly themed and entertaining. You pass through a stylized Paris rooftop scene, and even see Gusteau’s sign come to life as his ghostly image interacts with you along the way. Disney did a wonderful job making the wait part of the fun, and there’s plenty to look at as the anticipation builds.

Once you board your rat-shaped vehicle, you’re instantly “shrunk” down to Remy’s size and whisked away into the story. The trackless ride system is outstanding — it allows your car to move fluidly and unpredictably through the different environments, making every ride feel a bit different. You scurry through the kitchen, restaurant, and walls of Gusteau’s, dodging kitchen staff, sprinting under stoves, and gliding through pantries filled with oversized props and vivid detail.

The ride uses a mix of 3D projection, physical sets, movement, heat, wind, and even scents to fully immerse you. Every turn feels alive and energetic. There are moments of laughter, suspense, and total wonder. One second you’re ducking under a cart, the next you’re sliding across a flooded floor, and then you’re face-to-face with Remy preparing a dish. It’s an imaginative, multi-sensory journey that appeals to both kids and adults.

It’s also worth noting that the ride is very accessible. Disney’s cast members are helpful and accommodating, and the ride vehicles are designed to support a wide range of guests. That inclusiveness adds to the magic, making sure everyone can enjoy this experience.

Even if you’re not deeply familiar with the Ratatouille film, the ride tells its story clearly and cleverly, making it enjoyable for all guests. But for fans of the movie, there are countless little touches and references to discover. It’s a love letter to the film and to Paris itself.

Ratatouille is the kind of ride that leaves you smiling long after it’s over. It’s not a thrill ride in the traditional sense, but it’s thrilling in its creativity, detail, and ability to completely transport you to another world. This is a must-do at EPCOT and something I make a point to ride every time I visit. Disney Imagineering absolutely nailed it...

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT is a whimsical, family-friendly dark ride that shrinks guests to the size of a rat and immerses them in the bustling world of Gusteau’s kitchen. Located in the France Pavilion of World Showcase, this attraction blends cutting-edge technology with Pixar charm to create a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.

⸻

🎢 Ride Experience

Guests board trackless “ratmobiles” that scurry through a series of vibrant scenes, combining physical sets, 3D projections, and sensory effects like heat and the scent of food. The narrative follows Remy as he navigates the perils of a Parisian kitchen, offering an engaging storyline that appeals to both children and adults.

⸻

🌟 Highlights •   Immersive Theming: The ride’s design captures the essence of Paris, with detailed architecture and atmospheric elements that transport guests into the film’s setting. •   Family Appeal: With its gentle motion and engaging visuals, the attraction is suitable for all ages, making it a popular choice for families. •   Innovative Technology: The use of trackless ride systems and 4D effects enhances the sense of adventure and unpredictability.

⸻

⚠️ Considerations •   Wait Times: The attraction often experiences long lines, with some guests reporting waits of up to 60 minutes even with Lightning Lane access. •   Re-ride Value: While many find the ride charming, some guests feel it lacks the thrill factor to warrant multiple rides in a single visit.

⸻

📝 Final Thoughts

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a delightful addition to EPCOT, offering a unique blend of storytelling, technology, and family-friendly fun. While it may not be the most thrilling ride in the park, its immersive experience and universal appeal make it a worthwhile stop, especially for fans of the film or those seeking a break from more intense...

The Paris-themed area of Disney is absolutely stunning—one of the most immersive areas in the park. It genuinely feels like stepping into a romanticized version of Paris. The facades are beautifully done, the area is clean and charming, and little details like Colette’s motorcycle, the rat fountain, and the glowing Gusteau sign in the queue add so much personality. You can even spot the Eiffel Tower peeking over the rooftops—such a cute touch!

The queue is magical, with moody lighting, Parisian wallpaper, and the famous animated Gusteau sign interacting with you as you wait. It really sets the tone.

The ride itself is a 3D, trackless experience where you board a rat-shaped cart (modeled after Remy, Emile, or their dad) and wear 3D glasses. You’ll likely share the cart with other guests (it seats about 8). The ride begins with Remy and the ghost of Chef Gusteau speaking to you up close before you’re “shrunk” to rat-size and dropped into the bustling kitchen world.

You’re chased through walls and scurry under counters as chaos breaks loose in the kitchen—Chef Skinner is trying to catch you! You briefly go through a fridge filled with oversized cakes and food, then race through vents and under tables. The adventure wraps up inside the rats’ own version of a restaurant, which is SO cool. There are oversized flowers, string lights, and leaves, all maintaining the illusion that you’re still tiny in a big world. It’s whimsical, creative, and full of fun visual effects.

The only drawback? The storyline can feel a bit scattered. It doesn’t follow the movie directly, and it might be confusing for some. But the ride is super kid-friendly (no big drops), fun, and absolutely worth doing—especially if you’re a Ratatouille fan. Think Rise of the Resistance meets Pixar, but more playful and screen-focused.

Highly recommend...

Moments from Disney 🏰 We spent 10 days at the parks with 8 kids and managed to do pretty much every ride and attraction. The new Star Wars rides completely blew us away. Ratatouille was pretty cool too. Perhaps our kids are a bit older (ages 5 to 10) but the magic of Disney is sadly lost on us. Perhaps all of their new changes didn't help either. In the past, once you were in the park, everyone was equal. Everyone received their fast passes. Now that people can purchase their way into rides, it just didn't feel right especially since the cost of tickets is quiet a bit more too. Perhaps our family leans more towards nature and we don't do well with big/pushy crowds either. Overall, we had a great time ❤ * * #disneyworld #disneymom #disneylife #disney #disneygram #disneyparks #starwarsgalaxysedge #orlando #orlandoflorida #momlife #travelfamily #travelwithkids
