I am just getting started in the R/C world. I have had the toy R/C cars you buy for like 20 or so dollars at Wal-Mart and such in the past and have always loved them, but they were toys that didn't last long. I have always wanted to get in to the real R/C's but couldn't afford it because I had a family to think about. I instead took the cheap route and started doing model cars from places like hobby lobby... and still buying from time to time an R/C from a toy store just to play with it. I started looking up information on the R/C world and found that it's going to be something I can afford to go in to now that my kids are grown and almost ready to move out on their own. I found some great online shopping sites for R/C cars and the like. However, nothing beats the experience of going into an actual store to buy the product you are wanting to buy. Reason: you can put your hands on the product before the purchase is made. Feel the quality of the product. Make sure the buy will be worthwhile. You will never get that with online shopping. I looked up R/C hobby stores online and found several in the Beaumont Texas area had closed their doors forever. I was becoming more and more disappointed with this until I came across Hobby Town having a local store. I have been using the hobby town app and have found several items I want to purchase to start my new adventure with this hobby. I will be using the app to make purchases for my tools and such. But will step foot in the shop here in Beaumont again. The lady that helped me was a very nice person so there was no issue there. I'm sure the whole staff which can't be very big is nice and polite. The store how ever was a huge let down. There was nothing there to see. No kits in sight. No tools for cars... only drones... I like drone... I have a couple... but this place has a car track but has nothing to do with cars really... I give 5 stars for the staff... but 0 stars...

I brought them my phantom 4 and paid them to diagnose as to why it was making a weird noise and wouldn't connect to my controller. They took my money, told me they couldn't get parts and didn't know why it wouldn't connect to the controller. I purchased a traxxas rc car from them and I needed a few parts, I called about 30 minutes after hours and the business owner met me there.
