Food Lion — Attraction in Beckley

I have been shopping here for several months and always love the deals I receive and how friendly the staff is. I usually shop big once a month especially meats. I buy enough to fill our chest freezer up. Today 09/21/2020 I go back to meats and they had a great deal on family packs of hamburger so I picked up the last 3 packs they had. Again I shop for meats once a month. The lady working in the meat department was marking items down and muttered “greedy much?” I turned and looked at her and she drops her head and goes back to marking items down. I can’t believe she would say anything like this to anyone that in her store purchasing items. I was embarrassed that anyone would consider purchasing 3 packs of hamburger as being greedy. We like to shop here because it is clean,well lite,with friendly staff,very well stocked and the price point is good. We usually find good sales on meat but wish the company would open the butcher shop back up for custom cuts of meat for those special/holiday dinners and events. The sales are a good time to stock up.The produce dept is fair compared to other local chains and the deli is ok with only regular type cold cuts and cheeses,with not too much special/ethnic offerings of ether.Overall we recommend this store for your everyday shopping needs . 07-26- 2024 Up Date NOTHING has changed. I LOVE this Food Lion location, the people that work there are super friendly, helpful and engage in genuine real conversations with you instead of the normal "how are you" followed by silence. When you frequent the store they really get to know you, and you them. I only have to wait in line about 1 in 5 times that I go there which is usually somewhere between the hours of 3-7 PM. Some things may cost a little bit more, but the friendly employees and almost non existent wait times make it...
