United States Postal Service — Attraction in Bell Gardens

I like my regular mail person, but when he's not working it's sometimes bad. The worse time I have is on Saturday delivery. I always track every important shipment and if it arrives on Saturday, the email says it's out for delivery. Then about 830pm I get an email stating "your package has a delivery exception an attempt to deliver your package at 739pm on 7/25/20 could not access delivery location. First of all I never saw a mail truck, my mailbox is on the fence by the sidewalk, no one else got any mail. This has happened several times before. What I am waiting for is a mask, that could easily be slipped into my mailbox if there was an attempt to deliver, which there wasn't. Just be honest, say we are short handed and won't be delivering on Saturday, that's all it takes. Thank you 4/16/21 The new mailman I have is terrible either he stuffs the mail in my mailbox or tosses it on the ground. Despite the fact that I bought a larger mailbox, placed on a fence close to the sidewalk. He has problems. Today the package I was waiting for could not be delivered due to animal activity. I do have a dog who is in the house behind a security door. No one else received mail nor did I see a mail truck. The only animals that were outside was 2 stray cats, and a couple of hummingbirds. Poor mailman such terrible animals, get another job if you don't want to deliver mail.

8/8/2024 My newest problem with the post office is my mail will not be delivered to me, or anyone else on my street. It has been 2 months since a neighbor's dog bit the mailman. So I have to go 3 times a week to Bell Gardens to pick up my mail. I wait sometimes up to 30 minutes and sometimes I don't get all my mail. I asked if they could take my mail to Maywood, which is closer to my house, and of course the answer was NO. I need to get a PO box which I have to pay for, over $200.00 a year. My dog didn't bite the mailman, and yet I'm the one who suffers. So my answer to a PO box is NO. I've went all over for help apparently no one can help. Wow...I just read about 10 of the reviews regarding USPS Bell Gardens, CA sorting facility and I am hoping and praying my situation will be different. I live in NorCal and my younger sister lives in Albuquerque and she has been having a very rough time health wise for the last 6 months....sigh. She was diagnosed with melanoma on her face, neck and chest and has to undergo painful treatment with topical creams that burn, blister & scab to detect exact location of the melanoma and destroy the deadly cancer. She's had to do each section of her upper body one at a time due to severe pain & taking breaks before moving on to the next area. Anyway, her Birthday was first part of March and I have been working on something I made her & I didn't get it to her in time.....sigh. I was so upset with myself but my sister was her normal unselfish self & said, "DON'T WORRY sis"!!! Well, it didn't help & Easter was coming up so I decided to make something in addition to bday gift & also include little basket of goodies for her 2 "loves of her life" furbabies!! So I got everything mailed on Sat., March 19th, paid a little under $40 & the agent at USPS said it should get to ABQ in a week which would be TODAY, I've been monitoring and no movement from Bell Gardens since arrival, Monday, March 21st. :( I hope beyond hope it gets there next week as I've already prepared her for a "surprise" package. I shipped a media package from Brooklyn, New York to Los Angeles, Ca. I received my package within 9 days and when it arrived it was completely damaged/tampered with. The tracking number was torn half way off the box and the box was smashed in. I opened my box to find that half of my stuff was missing and the other half was filled with another persons mail. I was so devastated. I am in medical school and lost half of my medical books and medical notes. The books can be replaced but not the long nights and hours of studying that went into my medical notes to prepare for an upcoming nationalized standardized medical board exam. Now I have no notes to reference and study from thanks to the horrible handling of mail that took place at the Bell Gardens, CA USPS. On tracking my package online the last place my package was in route was at the Bell Gardens, Ca USPS center and it never was noted in the system that it was delivered to me. Based on the other reviews and internet searches about Bell Garden, Ca USPS, I honestly believe my package was tampered with/damaged at this location. For my package to make it all the way from NY and have this happen. This postal office/shipping center needs to be closed immediately. I don't understand why it is still open when complaints from this center date back to 2013 . . . smh! So disgusted.
