I really enjoy the food here but the owner is a discriminatory bigot and was very rude to us. We were kicked out of the OUTSIDE of the restaurant. We had been sitting outside on the patio, been served chips and salsa, ordered cheese dip and drinks which the waitress brought right out, at which point we placed our rather large order for three people when the owner came over and informed us that one person in our party wasn’t welcome at his restaurant and couldn’t give us a reason why. We were even outside on the patio, being very polite and quiet. He said our friend who ordered a meal and was a paying customer had to leave, it was entirely based on his appearance as he has long hair had just came from work and had on dirty painters pants with a few holes, so he puts off a little bit of a “slacker” vibe. The manager said he was cancelling our order. When we asked why, he would not tell us, he just said one person from our party had to sit in the car across the street and watch us eat our food. As we politely left, the waitress brought our our food and set it on our empty table, so he also wasted at least $30 of food. Based on his treatment I will most likely never return to this establishment, which I have been coming there at least 1-3 times a month for a few years. It was very frustrating, rude and completely unjustified as we had done absolutely...
Read moreMy table was dirty and service was slow, but it was super busy on a Friday night. Food was fantastic. Drinks are inexpensive.
UPDATE: since this post over two years ago, Casa Maria has become my go-to Mexican restaurant!!! My first experience was definitely a one-off on a very busy night! Everyone there is great!
The food: wide verity (Try the street tacos or, my favorite, the carnitas!) without a large or chaotic menu. They have something to fit your mood, your appetite, and your budget!
The drinks: right off the bat you have a wide choice of classic margaritas based on size & quality - from premade mix with well tequila to hand made to order with premium liquor. All at a more than reasonable price.
Atmosphere: lively but comfortable. It's a great place to relax (or party) with friends without being rowdy. Can be a little loud during peak hours, but not so much that you can't have a conversation at your table without yelling.
I have never given any restaurant a five-star rating. My personal rating calculous reserves that fifth star for only the absolute best of the best. This is my first because I am always happy when I come here, and always happy...
Read moreIt's been a long time since I last had such an awful experience with a restaurant. I placed an order over the phone for take out and picked up 15 minutes later. When I was handed my food, I quickly glanced over to make sure everything was there. I noticed it wasn't what I ordered and politely asked if that part of my meal could be remade correctly and that I was fine with keeping the rest of the meal that was made correctly. She immediately sighed and acted as if I was causing the biggest inconvenience for her and walked away without saying anything. I then had to explain the mistake to 3 other people before a man came over and told me that they would not fix the mistake unless I pay for the whole meal a second time! My jaw dropped, and all I could say was, "Are you serious?" He most definitely was. I have never in my life been charged twice for my meal because a restaurant messed it up. Not to mention the fact that I didn't want the whole meal remade! Just one part of it that was incorrect. I ended up just eating the parts of the meal that were made correct (rice and taco), which didn't even taste up to par with other local Mexican...
