Took our family for the opening of Ferdinand and as you can imagine it can be a bit challenging wrangling the adults with concession stand orders and toddlers attention. We purchased our tickets online to reserve our seats (highly recommend on busy days). The seats are wider, softer recliner seats with a low profile. You can even sign up for free to be an AMC member and take advantage of their $5 Tuesday deals. Tickets for $5 and constrain good for a discounted price too. A large tub of popcorn with 2 large drinks will run you about $22. You add your own butter and there's free refills and coca cola free style machines, so you can pick over 100 drink options yourself (including icee flavors). We ordered the popcorn combo, flatbread pizza and chicken tenders and fries. (Way too much food) but they have us our popcorn and drinks and let us proceed to the theatre. When the good was ready they delivered to our seat. When trying to cut cost, I would do one or the other but not both.... For was decent portions for price and write filling. The young man waiting on us (Cooper) was VERY patient and noticed we we're ordering a larger order and made sure we got the combo discount rather than paying for each item ala carte... Again he was very patient with my indecisiveness. Over all, bathroom was clean, place looked tidy and good service. Worth it if you're looking for a date night or family outing... Or some alone time... Not what I was expecting for an anticipated busy night for 2 major opening for movies (Ferdinand...
Read moreThis is the first AMC theatre I've visited in a long time. There is a large and convenient parking lot. From the outside it doesn't look like much, and inside looks like a fairly typical modern chain theatre. It had unmanned kiosks for people to buy tickets.
But we had movie passes and the kiosks didn't seem to be able to deal with them, so we had to find a human being. (We actually preferred talking to a person.)
If you think the movie will start within 10 or 15 minutes and calculate the length of the film to estimate how long it's going to take, forget that. We were subjected to more than a half hour of previews, which seemed overkill, but maybe the regulars know that it and compensate by arriving late?
The popcorn was good but overpriced (as all popcorn everywhere seems overpriced). The best part was the seats. This theatre has "assigned seating," which is nice. We didn't realize the theatre would have fewer than 30 people, so chose an aisle seat. Totally not necessary, as throughout the theatre, the space in front of the seats is wide enough to be comfortable for both the seated person and the person walking past.
The seats were roomy and comfortable and adjusted to several positions like a recliner. Wide comfortable armrests were unique to each seat as well an ample cup holder. Maybe this is what all theatres are like now and we don't get out much but it was unique to us, and we'd go...
Read moreDefinitely one of the better theatres, ruined by younger people. Going to the pictures is great, but I’m noticing every time I go now, there’s some snotty punk 16 year-old kid on the back row who’s messing around, trying to impress his girlfriend by making awful jokes during the whole movie. TikTok has also birthed a generation of comedians who thinks it hilarious to shout their internal monologues out during the quiet parts of the movies. The worst part is that you can’t confront them because they don’t care, and you can’t tell the staff because there’s nothing they can do about it. So you’re either forced to sit through it for 2 hours, or leave and forfeit your ticket and ruin your date-night.
It sounds like I’m being a Karen, but it does get annoying when I’m paying for tickets and trying to enjoy spending time with my wife and it’s being ruined by selfish children.
Older people don’t get off scott-free either. The burping, farting, and eating like a rabid chipmunk is equally distracting - but at least that’s partially not their fault. The immature shouting and childish behavior is worse.
Ultimately it comes down to consideration, and I’m starting to notice that more and more people are going to the cinema who aren’t considerate of the other people there. And I’m starting to notice correlations between the sort of people who are considerate and the...
