I've been here a few times, it's exactly as delicious as it sounds. I've had the beef, pork, and chicken katsu patties at different points, and there all very good, the chicken is probably my favorite but if you're only going to try one the burger is the experience you probably want to have. This is a fried burger, so there's no way it wouldn't be delicious, but it's really not as greasy as you would expect and the batter is light and crispy. The veg on the burger is good, too. Always fresh, and they use Japanese-style variants of things where they can to give you that Japanese-American fusion experience (the burger will have a giant pile of delicious cabbage on it instead of lettuce for example, and they use Japanese-style mayos and sauces).
They have a number of sides, and the fries are especially noteworthy. They're been very consistent for me, and a perfect level of crispiness. They have a few different Japanese-style seasonings that are all great (if you don't like high levels of spice, try the nori for something interesting!). There's also a number of delicious dipping sauces, I'm a big fan of the miso honey mustard.
There's some indoor seating, but it is cramped. There's not usually too many people there, at least when I've been, most people just get it to go, but I highly recommend eating in so it's hot and fresh. It is fried food, after all. Katsu burger is a unique experience, basically a must-try for people new...

What really defines a good burger is a break from the norm taste wise. The weirdest burger I have eaten before today was peanutbutter and sriracha on a bacon cheeseburger.
Today I had the "Godzilla" which included (if you guys dont know by the name of the restaurant) katsu beef, which isnt like traditional hamburger. These are actually lightly battered and deep fried.
The taste is on another level. The profile of the patty is light and airy with the battering having a salty and crisp texture, also incorporating various spices.
The toppings (I always skip mayo) were great. The lettuce is replaced with cabbage and you have tonkatsu sauce which is like barbecue. The rest other than the patty is pretty close to what you might be familiar with. Each element of the burger really does have a Japanese characteristic to it though which is quite amazing and I've never had such a delight taste wise.
The fries were great too, I chose the spicy blend and the texture and taste actually had a profile similar to spicy deep fried calamari which again was impressive to see coming out of French fries.
TL:DR if you want something "different" for a hamburger this should be on your...
Read moreI've gotten Katsu Burger 3 times in the last few weeks. I went a couple of times before, years ago, and I remember thinking it was pretty mediocre. But either my taste has changed or the restaurant has changed, because now I absolutely love these burgers. From photos online, you might think they are greasy and fall apart all over you burgers, but that's not the case at all. The fried patties are wonderfully cooked. The chicken is juicy, white meat covered in crispy panko without all of the grease. The ingredients are put on evenly and brazenly, giving these things monstrous flavors. And the banzai bites and nori fries are awesome. But to me, the thing that REALLY sets Katsu Burger apart (aside from Japanese flavors on burgers) is that I can't believe how well it travels. Two of the times I've gotten it have been through delivery services, and it travelled significantly better than any other burger delivery I've gotten. Kudos to their packaging or ingredients or whatever it is that keeps these things in good shape the whole way to...
