That amount of playground equipment and the set up of is fantastic. Unfortunately this is going to have to be a late fall through early spring park for us. Even though we were here during the cool down it was still miserable. All the rubber surface and large white side walks heats up majorly in the sun even in the 69°-72° weather it was when we were there.
This playground should have been planned with more shade features. The zipline area is also quite dangerous as it was a natural point to cross with how open it was most people crossing through there didnt realize they were walking through ziplines until they were almost hit. There are sidewalk trails surrounding a large stocked pond that has good fishing if you don't mind small fish.
There are two football fields with a very nice parking lot.
At the very back of the park is a very nice 1.2 mile there and back walking trail on level ground with one section of the trail along the river and the other in the forest. The trail is suitable for strollers and there are a few sandy beaches and many fishing locations just off the trail along the river.
This is my favorite place to walk. With or without my dogs.
Also, every summer the Riverfest music festival is here with amusement rides and...
