I didnāt know this toll bridge even existed, so it was a surprise to find in the middle of the night. When I rolled up, there didnāt appear to be any signage on the toll booth to speak to the legitimacy of a legally obtained toll - unless you count the āZombie Apocalypseā sign in the window. It honestly seemed kind of sketchy to me, because the only tolls I have ever paid in my lifetime have been on the interstates to clearly marked government entities, so I asked who/what the toll was going to. I was confused by the employeeās answer, and as I was speaking to my passenger while she dug around for change for the toll, the employee copped an attitude and pulled what I can only describe as a TSA-type power trip - interrupting to bark at me, āI donāt care. Turn around and go back 20 minutes out of your way then.ā Aside from the fact that what I did or did not do with my time was none of his business, he was blatantly rude and interjected with a condescending snipe to gain compliance. P.S. I wouldāve gladly went 20 minutes back out of my way to not give you that dollar, guy. Much more than that, honestly. And Iāll make sure I never get stuck on that road again, so I can keep the acrid stench of your misery out of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could rate the bridge toll lower than a one star, I would. As someone traveling from out of state, there were no warnings signs that a toll was ahead. The ātoll bothā had a zombie fallout shelter sign on the front of it. There was nothing on the front of the toll both that indicated that it was a toll road. As we passed it, a lady screamed at us to stop. We backed up, and finally saw a sign on the side of the toll both. We didnāt really appreciate being yelled at by the toll lady when we had no clue that there was a toll. There are so many different things that could be done to improve this toll. 1) Actually, place a sign, on the Iowa side, that there is a toll ahead. 2) Make sure there is a place for people to turn around that donāt have money. 3) Take down the stupid zombie sign. 4) Put up a sign indicating that it is a toll on the front of the toll both with the cost. This needs to be fixed immediately....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe guy working tonight was a JERK!! his name was john and when my girlfriend and I pulled up it had occurred to me that I gave my last dollar to a buddy earlier , and so he told me to back up and leave very rudely. So I backed up into the employee parking lot dug through my change found a dollar and upon returning he told me that it was now two dollars for pulling up to his window from the first time. I thought he was kidding but soon found out he was serious and was very rude about it at that. I thought the toll was to CROSS the bridge not get insulted and treated poorly. This is the third time my family and I have had trouble with the staff on this bridge, which stinks cause we live in Glenwood and work in Bellevue and Omaha, so we use to cross quite regularly. So from now on my family and I will make the extra trip around to avoid the bridge, and I recommend the same to...
