They must hate sideburns here. If you speak Korean, don't already have sideburns and don't mind surprise charges, this might be a good place for you. I am not fluent in Korean though, I do have sideburns and I don't like surprise charges, so my two experiences here were disappointing.
Last time, they cut my sideburns way too short, leaving only whiskers. This time, they shaved them completely off. When I mentioned it as soon as I noticed, as she spun me to face the mirror (after the damage was done), she first tried to claim that she cut them only shorter. I took my finger and touch them to my sideburn, explaining that I only felt skin, and not even whiskers. Then she apologized and told me that she should have asked. She apologized a couple more times, which was nice, but at that point, my sideburns were gone and it will take at least a few weeks to grow them back to how I liked them.
I was surprised to be charged the full price at the end, plus a $1 surcharge for using my credit card. This is actually illegal according to H.B. 1870, Passed on 3/7/13, which prohibits imposing a surcharge on a cardholder who elects to use a credit card in lieu of other payment.
Needles to say, I won't be back. There seems to be a language barrier I can't seem to jump over, plus, I just...

I'm always in the lookout for good value barbershops. I am not a salon-going type of guy (no offense to those that love salons, it's just a matter of preference).
I walked into EZ Chair with a bit of trepidation; it looked like a salon. But no! The right women that cut your hair are legitimate barbers who know their craft and are able to deliver a consistent service.
The best part? The included scalp massage - I almost nod off every time.
Best part number 2 - $23 for a quality haircut! San Francisco haircuts were in the $45-$55 range plus tip!
Extras - video games for the kids, 4 large screen TVs and a pool table! Add a bar and...

I got on the waiting list and when it was my turn I was asked to let someone else go before me and then given another barber than I signed up for.
Sophia was the one given to me and worked with the picture I gave her but she got frustrated with me when I want to blend the fade higher than the picture.
At that point I felt like I was on egg shells trying not to get her upset but at the same time get the haircut I wanted.
She kept asking if I was done to get me out of the chair. It was miserable.
I do think she knows how to cut hair but the language barrier and her frustration is just something I was not expecting.
Usually I look forward to hair cuts, head rubs, and massage like they advertised. But not here...
