I booked an appointment with Desi through a friend who goes to her.

An hour before our scheduled appointment time, Desi texts me that she’ll be 30 minutes late & asked if i could come in at that time; I was fine with it since i live down the street. I show up a few minutes before my appointment & text her that I’m there; no reply for over 25 minutes and then she comes out of no where mixing a bowl of color; we had no in person consultation before. She acted as if i didn’t just wait almost 30 minutes for her; an hour after the original scheduled time.

She said that since i had to wait, she’ll give me a complimentary deep condition; that’s funny because most places do the deep condition as part of the service for bleached hair.

I texted my best friend who always does my hair but i couldn’t go to her because she wasn’t in town and i had a trip coming up in a few days. She said that the entire interaction is unprofessional & she couldn’t have been mixing a bowl of anything without an in-person consultation.

So Desi finishes foiling my hair, i told her i wanted to fix my roots and that’s it. She had me under the heating lamp for 10 minutes only (she said bleach can only bleach so much) and then once we were done washing everything out and drying it, my roots were streaky and i could still see where my root grow out was. I was not happy but we had already spent 3 hours in the chair and the salon closed a little bit ago.

Then we go to check out and she charges me $10 more than quoted price but i don’t say anything because at this point i just wanted to get out of there.

Two weeks later I had my friend fix her horrible job and now I’m happy.

I would not recommend Desi for any blondes; maybe this was her off day but being an hour late and leaving me with streaky roots is not...

Modern salon, good location, plenty of parking. My appointment to get a new hair style took less than an hour with an extremely brief, desultory shampoo and a snip snip snip. Moments later when the assistant took over to finish up, I was uncomfortable with the rugged methods used for hair drying and styling. While I left there with a decent look, it faded in 30 minutes, maybe because it was a very warm day. Would I return?
