I have in the past given thus school 5 stars. My experience the last two days have been horrendous. I have been going to this school for over 12 years. I have always been treated with respect and dignity. Yesterday was an exception. On Thursday, I had my hair highlighted and grey roots covered. However, when I was done, my hair was way darker than when I had started! The root coverage was wonky and way darker than expected. The girl took 4.5 hours. I told her when I got there on Thursday that I had to leave at 2:30. At 2:30, I left with my hair drenched and dripping. Note that when I entered, my hair was at my waist. I asked for 5 inches to be cut off. My hair is now JUST BELOW MY SHOULDERS! Later that day, when dried, I saw the color aberrations. I called the school and asked for an appointment the next day to have it fixed. They said a teacher would fix it, and the earliest time I could return was noon on Friday. The thought of wasting more hours was devastating, but darker hair after paying $160 was unacceptable. Also, since a teacher would be fixing it, 2.5 hours would probably work. However, they assigned me to a student who had to be shown how to do the foils! The right side of my head was started at 12:30 and completed at 1:50. The left side was then started and completed at 2:25. I have to leave to pick up my grandson from camp at 2:30. The teachers knew this. They refused to help the student. They did not assign anyone else to help her. Therefore the right side of my head which sat for an hour is a totally different color than the left which only had five minutes to set. I had begged the teachers for help and they BLAMED ME for pressuring their students. Several times, I was belittled for my expectations of their students. Previous students over the years must have had better teachers because this was the worst experience emotionally plus the students not of the quality of past years. Read moreThis is the worst salon I ever visited. They made mistakes and damaged my hair. They used products I did not consent to. My blonde hair became orange, black with many other brass like shades. I was charged more than double for their mistakes. There is no manager on duty. I spoke with a lead and she was rude, didn’t even wanna come to front desk. I was told she usually sits in the back and wouldn’t come assist me. I told them I’m not paying until I speak to her. She finally came and I explained everything. After an hour of back and forth, she gave me a little discount and told me to come back for a color correction at no cost. When I went back I was charged more than double the price and my hair looked worse. They charged me for products they used because of their mistakes which I did not consent to. There is no real manager on duty to assist. I called the director Danielle more than 20 times and left many voicemails. She didn’t even have the courtesy to return my calls. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care and how unprofessionally this issue was treated. After many times of calling, I was informed by the receptionist to dispute it with my bank. Read moreI have been going to Jean Madeline for years now and I have had various students work on my hair. Whether it be a cut, color, or style, I have NEVER had a bad experience there! I recently went from just getting color to highlights and I must say I get complimented all the time once I get them done or touched up! People can not believe it when I tell them what I pay as opposed to other places! Yes it takes a little longer when I am there but I know they are students that are learning and I do not mind at all. I either bring a book, have a conversation with the student, or play a game on my phone. I know everytime I am getting color I should expect to be there a few hours...but in that time every student has asked if I was okay and if they had a question they asked their instructor/teacher right away. I am never worried about the end result because I have LOVED every single cut and color I have received! My husband barely ever notices my hair but once I started the highlighting he had nothing but compliments! I would highly recommend Jean Madeline to anyone I meet!
