The most fabulous stay. Couldn't have been better at the Hilton. Right hip replacement by Dr William Arnold. A masterful surgeon. He's kind, soft spoken and above all thorough. He checks every potential health related issues and runs necessary test. He calls the night before to talk about pros and cons and answer any questions and resolve any uncertainties on the part of the patient. If things aren't right he will delay for your safety. He makes everything about your care and comfort. The staff from the registration to the anesthesian to the pre op to the OR to recovery everyone is so very accommodating and kind and interactive. There is constant attention applied to each patient. Single rooms amazing food. I stayed one night was walking that evening, by the next day pain levels were 0-2. All of the props/therapy exercises, i need to recover from home were packed away for me. All of my meds called in ahead of time as some meds are not kept in pharmacies because of theft. All of the nurses had conversations with me and listened and answered questions. It was awesome. Dr.Matthew Austin, and the complete nursing staff and the complete nursing staff and the complete nursing staff of Rothman, Jefferson was absolutely the best then I could have asked for. Doctor Austin you made me feel very very welcome and you came across very competent. The nursing staff OMG could not have been any kinder or better and helping me in any way necessary. I absolutely would tell anybody that needed Ortho surgery to come the Rothman. Dr Austin was recommended to me by a physical therapist and I'm glad I listened to her oh, I do not think I could have found a better doctor. And also just one more thing the food, LOL my personal opinion was equal to any restaurants food that I've been to it was hot it was a lot, as a matter of fact I could not finish most of my meals but they were not pre-made the food was absolutely 100% top-of-the-line food which is unusual for most hospitals in my opinion. I want to thank doctor Austin his complete nursing staff and the people who also took care of the paperwork I do not want to leave them at because they were also very pleasant and helping me so in my opinion my stay was absolutely 100% as comfortable as it could be under the circumstances of my right hip replacement which is repairing and doing what it's supposed to be doing on time and quickly. Virtually no pain a little at the incision site. Matter fact at this point the incision hurts just a little bit but the joint itself the first time I stood up which was within a couple hours of my surgery I could tell the hip was fixed immediately so I want to thank everybody again who was involved in my care God bless you guys you're the best bye-bye thank you very...

I am extremely dissapointed with my recent experience with Rothman Institute. I chose Rothman because of its reputation. I was originally scheduled for foot surgery for Dec 14 at the Physicians Care Hospital across from the Limerick office, with follow up appointment Dec 26. My follow up appointment date was then changed. Because this hospital was out of network, the location of my surgery was then changed to Bryn Mawr Hospital and the date was changed to Dec 15. After I traveled to this hospital for my PAT on Monday, I received a call from Rothman that the material needed for my surgery could not be obtained by this hospital so the location was changed again, to Rothman Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Bensalem and the date changed to Dec 11. After much frustration in re-arranging transportation, I was informed by the insurance verification person that my insurance would cover the procedure and anesthesia but the implant material would be out of pocket cost. I proceeded to pay for the quoted price only to get a call later today that the proper channel was not used in obtaining the cost. I was quoted the invoice price and not the”marked up “ cost to the patient. The new price was now more than double the original cost, more than 100% mark up, which now made it prohibitive. I was declined any payment plan because the hospital had to pay up front for the implant material and no offer to honor the original quoted price as it was clearly their mistake. Only “I’m so sorry”.
