This Museum is a must see! A most exquisite and priceless collection of arrowheads, tools, pottery, clothing, headresses, photographs, and more. Allow yourself plenty of time to really dive into this collection and it's historical content. Obviously this was very well planned and executed through the pristine display of every item. Great for all ages to enjoy. The museum has free entrance, gift shop and clean restrooms. I would love to visit again when in the area.
This small museum offers free audio phones for the exhibit. Many artifacts are presented, from numerous tribal nations, as well as various periods in indigenous histories in the Americas. Some of the artifacts are especially impressive, such as the clothing Native Americans sometimes fashioned from blankets and beads secured through trading with Europeans.
The Museum of Native American History invites you to "Walk Through America's Past," where we will give you a glimpse into what life was like for America's first inhabitants. The museum is divided into five different time periods that will guide you through the constantly changing lives of the Native Americans, as seen through their artifacts. Our displays feature relics that date from over 14,000 years old to historic times. Come visit our museum and enjoy seeing some of the finest treasures ever created by early craftsmen. Schools and groups are welcomed, call to make reservations....
Read moreHave visited the Museum many times over the years, watched it grow and get better every time I visited, learned to appreciate the Native American Culture more each trip. The staff is amazing and we have friends visit with us each year for a week from Texas and they always wanted to view the museum and we all made it just before Christmas this year, they were so excited and said it was the highlight of the week. The gift shop is so nice and my wife always purchases from the gift shop, she loves the Pendleton blankets and throws and saves to purchase, as all the ladies in our family love those as Christmas gifts, just so much to do, learn and see and the owner spent a great deal of time visiting with our friends that made it even more special. So much Early American works of art that will be saved and viewed for so many to see. The negative painted pottery amazes me being so brilliant and colorful after over 1,000 years, every drawer you open and view is amazing, Very obvious the owner and staff cares and enjoys what they are doing each day at the museum. Thank...
Read moreThe best Native American Museum I have personally ever been in. Stunning artifacts and a massive collection at that. A HUGE collection of points and tools. The quality of the pieces was impressive, as well as the age range, they definitely have some their best stuff on display. A number of loans from personal collections as well which speaks to their reputation and standing in the community at large. A wonderful experience and I will be going back to get a closer look at some of them. Covers all of the Americas, which was a bonus in my opinion (The South American pottery in particular was gorgeously painted and executed), with a particular focus on North America. My favorite this trip was the mammoth skeleton when you walk in the door. HUGE! So much fun! Also, there was no admission fee, it's donation oriented. You'll definitely want to help support them. Oh, and the gift shop was well stocked and reasonable museum...
