I hate to be a "Karen", because the employees who spoke with us this evening were kind and the problems were not their fault. (It is a management issue). However, this was the single worst arcade experience I've ever had. My husband and I came in tonight for the first time to play some games. When we entered the arcade, we found a worker who directed us to go to the card dispensers. We bought two cards, each with $10 worth of points on it. The first one came out, then the machine froze and wouldn't dispense the second card. So, we found another worker to help and as she was making her way to the kiosk, a third person came over and took us to the gift shop where she gave us a second card. Next, we set out to play some games only to discover that OVER HALF of the game machines were down and would not accept our cards. When we finally found a game that worked, we swiped a card (the one that did come out of the dispenser) and it said it was "out of funds". So we are exasperated by this point (broken card machine, most games not working, card not working). When we went back to the gift shop to ask for our money back, we were told that "We've already given out so many refunds that we can't issue any more refunds today" (Does that tell you how many angry customers had already complained)? And the woman behind the counter (who was very polite) also asked, "Did anyone tell you when you came in that only 25% of our machines work?" NO THEY DID NOT. None of the three people we'd already spoken to had mentioned this fact. There are NO SIGNS ANYWHERE mentioning this, (Yes, there are signs on the machines that say that the machines themselves will not issue refunds for malfunctions, however there were no signs mentioning just how many machines are broken). She also said, "Lots of people have complained, customers were even yelling at me yesterday" which means that there was plenty of time to put up signs announcing broken game machines and broken card dispensers. She said that the number of down machines was only temporary because there is some "cross-over" going on. If this is the case, either warn people with signs before they buy defect cards for defect machines, OR shut the place down so people don't waste their time and money. Additionally, she and the worker at the virtual reality center mentioned that the card dispenser kiosk had been issuing cards without funds on them which means that the workers are aware of the problem and YET customers are still allowed to use the defective card kiosk. Nobody is doing anything about this issue even though they know about it. I will never be back and I'll be shocked if this business can recover from this astonishing level of negligence and mismanagement. Some advice for the manager - Close up shop while you hire the workers you need who fix the game machines. While you're shut down for a day or more, use that time to put up signs blocking off defective kiosks and warning people about broken machines. I promise that the business you lose in one day or even a week of being closed for repairs won't compare to the hundreds of customers you're currently losing.
In regards to the photo, I suppose awesome could come one day, but it certainly wasn't there...

Margaritaville, despite the odd start with the ill-fated casino on the point, has turned into an amazing playground for kids and adults alike. From the moment you walk in and catch Jack Johnson on the speakers or Jimmy himself paddleboarding nearby on the TV, all the way to your moments stepping out, maybe dropping by to snap a shot next to a replica of his van, The Green Tomato, the locale exudes good vibes, and it's backed up with killer food, tasty drinks, and most importantly, awesome arcade action.
Some highlights of recent trips and primary reasons I come over.
The pinnacle of this arcade is a pristine Pump It Up Infinity cabinet running v1.10. This machine is LOUD, bright, and hyper-responsive. Bring a USB stick, start posting scores, and log into Zenius-I-vanisher to meet the other players! Beautiful decor, including a scale model of his seaplane right above the escalators leading to Doe's Eat Place. Lots of great prizes in the cabinets, including consoles at reasonable prices, plus neat trinkets and candies. Solid gift shop with unique mementos and obligatory JB/MG swag. Great games to AP, including Zombie Snatcher, Goal Line Rush, Quick Drop, 2 Minute Drill, Gold Fishin', Bean Bag Toss, and more. Stellar custom painted rock climbing wall with multiple difficulties, simple, but fun indoor suspension roller coaster, and a super fun ropes course. Bowling, pinball, pool, and sports simulations for golf, baseball, football, and more.
With Landshark, Margaritaville, Doe's, Sweet Shack, and the Coffee Shop all readily accessible from the arcade, it's easy to get around to snag a bite to eat or a drink to get lost in the night. With polite staff, killer events, and an AMAZING rewards program, this is a stand-out feature of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is a wonderful spot to chill for any age. As a long time arcade rat from the 90s and 2000s (back when Grand Casino and Beau Rivage was the bee's knees) this is as close as you can get to that OG big arcade experience without taking a long trip. Read moreVery large corporate kiddie casino. This place has all forms of games, simulators, obstacle course and climbing wall. Basically every form of flashing digital distraction to separate you from your money and give you an epileptic seizure. First thing to know is where to get your play cards. They have kiosks all around that you can purchase and/or recharge your cards, but only by a dollar amount. If you want to get the hourly unlimited rates, you have to go see the cashier immediately to your right once you come up the stairs/escalator. The marked difference between the two other than costs($30 for 1hr) is that unlimited only lets you accrue so many points to redeem for prizes. With pay per play its as many as you can earn. One thing I noticed is nothing cost a whole number. All the games are 5.1, 13.6, X.Y whatever that means if you're paying by play, you'll end up with an unusable decimal of points at the end. Some of the simulators are separate and require real money. They do have a wide variety of games for all types of players young and old. Most of the games appeared in good, clean working order, but I saw several games with drinks/trash on them. This leaves me to believe they're short on floor staff for help when actually needed. Similar to others, the prizes you can claim are cheap dollar tree quality at x100 the price. The other gripe I have is alcohol. I thought casinos were supposed to have cheap drinks to help facilitate you losing money in the slots. Not here, 2 beers and a Tito's cost $30. Fly llama brewery is down the street, an IPA shouldn't cost $10. It is what it is, a money trap. God forbid you have more than one offspring, you'll need multiple jobs to afford this place. Maybe it's just PTSD from being a former CEC manager, but this is definitely a special occasion...
