Schooner Pier Complex — Attraction in Biloxi

Today 5-21-2025, my wife and I drove from Gautier to the Biloxi Schooner Pier and walked out on the pier at approximately 5:30. We had a pair of tickets my wife had won at the Sacred Heart bazaar. We had a brochure that gave us instructions so we followed them. We called the phone number listed but no one answered. We tried several times. By this time it was getting to around 6:00 which was the time the Schooner was suppose to depart. No one ever showed up. A helpful boater actually knew the Schooner Person to call. He did so and got word he, the Pilot wasn’t coming because he was sick,, while 12 customers were simply left there waiting for someone to show up to board the passengers.There were several of the folks from out of town that came to Biloxi to gamble and enjoy the Schooner Cruise.

The Schooner is an important part of the history of Biloxi ship building and Seafood Industry. Someone who was/is in charge needed to answer the business phone and send someone/ a messenger to the pier to let HIS/HER customers know that the boat was not leaving the dock due to the pilots illness. What an incredible experience. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves the ocean and sailing! Great crew, beautiful craft... The weather was exquisite, and I just Have the best time!
