We were greeted by a great holiday display with a line of eager kids waiting to see Santa, it was right out of the movies...lol. Unfortunately it turned into a horror flick after waiting in line at Burlington for about 40 minutes. My husband wanted to buy our Daugher a coat for Christmas and saw one he liked online at Burlington but I told him we shouldn't go to that one because my last few experiences were bad, empty shelves, stuff everywhere, it was a mess. I was pleasantly surprised when we first walked in, it was bright and looked like they had plenty of items, especially toys. It took us no time to find several coats and we actually had a tough time choosing one because they were all nice. My husband got in line because the line was pretty long, I continued shopping for about 10 minutes and he was still in the same spot. I was like what's going on? He said some lady had been up there the whole time, seemed like she was returning items and buying them. The manager came up and helped the cashier do something and walked away and I said, why didn't she get up here and ring, what could be more important than the customers right now? The line of people were getting ansy and a lady a few ahead of us went up to the cashier and said the lady should step aside because she had been waiting for about 35 minutes and she was being very inconsiderate, nothing happened so I went to find the manager and in the back of the store the line was just as long, also with just 2 cashier's, there was a 3rd lady that seemed to be messing with hangers and i said excuse ma'am is there a manager around and she said, i am one of the managers on duty and i said well we've been waiting in line for about 40 minutes because there is a customer who is holding up the line and the other manager was already up there. She said well i have everybody i got ringing and i can't leave this stuff like this, the lines have been like this since i got here and i just said well i think your customers should come first, this is ridiculous. I went back to the front of the store and yes, the same customer was at the register, the cashier again called for a mgr and about 5 minutes later here comes the mgr from the back that i talked to and when we left she was still there. What poor mgmt, there were a lot of angry customers. It's the week before Christmas, it should be all...
Read moreI recommend you never speak to the Northtown supposedly General manager Paula Mueller and her security worker Shuhab Abdi. My daughter wallet fell from her pocket yesterday just hours before her 13th birthday today. I called early and they said twice they hadnât seen anything. Then something in my body told me to callback again because it just didnât sound right that on sundays the mall closes at 6pm but since my daughter was getting her hair cut we were absolutely the last to leave the mall between 7:15pm, that either the security had it or the clean up crew. Which on the third call surely indeed the security guard Shuhab said he had it, but no money was in there only receipts and a debit card. Then when I ask Paula can she run cameras back or contact Blaine officers she insist I couldnât make a report or the cameras move constantly and donât see things like dropped or picked up wallets. That I canât speak with Blaine officers because she controls the mall area and she is the general manager and I just better be glad my daughter got something back. With that kinda attitude she doesnât need to be a general manager or running the mall. Like I expressed to her if it was your child on her birthday and was lied to twice from security and then on the third time was told it was there how would you feel. She said well I wouldnât care and let me call the security if you still want the empty wallet so he can bring it, then turns around and lock the door. I rang the doorbell again and she didnât even have the confidence to come back to let me get her name but another associate who also was very rude and disrespectful gave it to me but was very hesitant. Like these kinda of people especially in the now of time with everything like COVID-19/pandemic going on need to treat customers with respect. Now had I wouldâve been rude or walked away from her or used profanity I bet she wouldâve called 911 or Blaine officer then. Yet her and Northtown Mall are saying they are working hard as ever to work with Blaine officers to work with customers who experience events like this. Well thatâs a lie and undermines the way an employee should delegate or handle...
Read moreLacking a lot of high end stores and variety. It's bizzare that despite being attached to the mall you can't go to hobby lobby through the mall, you must exit the mall and enter hobby lobby to purchase all your conservative hobby needs. A lot of stores that seem very pop up.
Food court lacks selection, two sandwich places, two Chinese places, a dairy queen and a taco johns. I guess there is auntie Anne's for your pretzel needs. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired, with gaps bigger then my friends front teeth on the bathroom doors. Ample parking because it's pretty dead. Entrances to the mall can get pretty congested, and you should add 5 mins to any time to park and get into the place.
They don't plow the parking lot enough at all in the winter so mornings will be a crapshoot on finding the lines to use, and causes the parking lot to look like a bumper car arena in the winter by 1 pm.
As for as entertainment there is a kiosk that rents motorized animal carts that have seen better days for you to drive in the empty halls and a bouncy jump pad attended by an employee who gets some serious Facebook time in. There is also a pet store that really doesn't want you to take photos of anything based off the 30+ signs stating as such. There are such better dying malls 20 mins away that offer so much more shopping options that I don't known why you wouldn't...
