The tutors in this school are horrible! Almost every one of them are single women, or outrightly divorced, and you know women must gossip so you become their topic. If you do not want to be treated like an idiot don’t go to this school. If you don’t want to be treated like a kindergarten don’t go there. The owner is only interested in your money, once you have given him your money he doesn’t care whether you leave or stay. Do not let his deceitful calmness fool you, they are all pathetic people. I took the entrance exam three years ago, and was admitted, I got the highest grade in the entrance examination for that set. I wanted to do the program just to acquire the certificate, I told Ahmed about it and he encouraged me to come. I thought this was a good school, until my third day in class when the Ibo woman they call Miss Carol came in to teach. I did not know that she was the attention seeking type, who loves to be worshipped, maybe she’s the first to attend college in her family., I don’t know. A woman who wasn’t even done with her masters, but was already calling herself a professor. She carries herself as such, and wants everyone to see her as such. This woman started complaining about the hat I had on, as a person I don’t like to wear hats but, the weather was cold, and the corners of my hair was already turning gray, it was very embarrassing to me, so I had to look for a way to cover it. The Muslims in the class had their hair covered, why was my own an issue? This woman started picking on me from that day, so much so, that any question I asked her during the practical sessions, or during her lectures was an issue with her. It got to a point one day, during such two hours sessions, I wanted to use the bathroom, but this woman said I shouldn’t go. When I told Ahmed, he was taking sides. Before you know it, she sold me out to her friends and, one of them took it personal and said if I couldn’t get a sick paper from the doctor for the day I called in sick, I will lose the 35 marks for the Anatomy test, that they had in my absence. I was very sick but, i just took medications at home and went back to sleep after calling to inform the school and dr Ahmed the owner of the school. Nobody told me that I needed anything when I called in sick, until I requested to take the test that was done in my absence. That was the second week of my stay in that school. When I saw how they were behaving, I left, even though I had just paid $4000 for the first four months. That was when the LPN program was still running for 9 months, I could not spend two full weeks in this school because of Miss Carol and her friend, the Egyptian, Anatomy tutor. And the so called owner, kept quiet, he did nothing to resolve the problem. And till today he never got across to me. Why would he even try to resolve this when he was already with the money? They never worked for that money, The money was more important to him.
This Ahmed man, forgot in a jiffy how long it took him he talked to convince me, to come attend his school, and I told him everything, he knew I was an Internationally trained Nurse who was still struggling to pass the Nclex RN exam, he knew that I was only settling to do this program in order to get a nursing certificate and be able to work as a nurse in the United States until I pass the RN exam. He knew that I had taken the RN exam twice before, I told him I have been out of school for over 22 years, I wanted to come there for the LPN program bc i figured it would be easier for me to get a license that way. But, after he took over $4000 from, made me buy books and uniforms well over $600, put me through the stress of their ATI entrance exam, they started saying I was overqualified for their school. He didn’t return my money, my beautiful laptop was also stolen in the struggles of doing this school. Shame on you Dr. Ahmed! You were after the money, like money is everything right? But, It is not, It has never been and money will never...
Read moreThank you AMI for accepting me and for being the foundation of my nursing career. It was definitely an exciting experience for me moving from California and making a new life here in Ohio. Not only have I had a great education from AMI, I have learned about a lot of different cultures and appreciate that AMI was very inclusive of different cultures when teaching us about patient care. Be prepared to work hard and never be afraid to ask questions. This is not the type of school where you can just miss assignments or show up late and it will all be okay. No, this is a nursing school that truly prepares individuals to enter into a career as nursing professionals. It was tough, but the instructors were always willing to help out students whenever they needed. Shout out to Dr. Elnaggar for being the best A&P instructor. To my other instructors and staff Mr. Ali, Dr. Gates, Dr. Tiya, Dr. Crayton, Professor Pauline, Professor Carol, Professor Jan, Mrs. Rosemary and Elfreda thank you all so much for your hard work and dedication to your students. AMI really helped build me into not just a nurse, but a GOOD nurse. Since graduating and passing my NCLEX on my first try I have so far received a handful of job offers from OhioHealth, Mount Carmel, and Nationwide Children's to name a few. I truly feel that every graduate that walks out of AMI will have a good nursing foundation along with strong morals and ethics. I am proud to be a part of the AMI LPN alumni and recommend this school for anyone interested in starting their nursing career....
