La Marsa Bloomfield Hills — Restaurant in Bloomfield Township

A co-worker and I went for lunch today. My co-worker had me go into the restaurant to secure a table while she took time to park. The host told me that we had two people before us; one that was sitting in a corner and the other standing directly outside. My co-worker has now entered the restaurant. Meanwhile I saw another set of folks we knew come in after us. The host sat the one person that was before us down (which was appropriate because they were before us) and then sat the folks that came in AFTER us down before they seated us. The host told us we had to wait because they were there before us. Even though the folks we knew told him they came AFTER us. He knew it as well, but proceeded to LIE and tell us that they had been waiting. He furthered his LIE by saying that one of them came in and asked for the table and went back out to walk into the restaurant together with the other two people in that party. My co-worker proceeded to let the host know that this was a LIE as we saw them when they all got out of the car and walked up to the restaurant AFTER us. Needless to say, we left. I was very angry. Instead of "going off" like I wanted to, I merely left the restaurant as this made a statement as well that I will not pay money to someone/a place that basically told me that my business or time is not important. PERIOD. It should be known that we have frequented that restaurant almost everyday for the last couple of weeks. My co-worker has been more than I have. We ordered dinner and explicitly asked if they used peanut oil or pine nuts in their food due to a severe food allergy. They assured us there were no peanut products used. THEY LIED. My brother went into anaphylactic shock. When we called to figure out what was used, they were completely indifferent and couldn't have made it clearer that they do not understand or care about the dangers of severe food allergies. They put a person's life in danger all because they couldn't even be bothered to know their menu or check with the kitchen. They took no responsibility and did not demonstrate they understood the gravity of what they had done. They refused to refund our money and only offered a useless credit for a future meal, as if we would ever go to their restaurant chain again after such appalling behavior. DO NOT get carry out from this restaurant! The chicken breasts are so small, it almost looks like two pieces were made out of one breast just to make it seem like you’re getting more. This is not the first time it happened, that’s why I decided to leave a review. If I didn’t order food from here before I wouldn’t even know. The portions of everything used to be pretty nice size. As I mentioned before, because the breasts were so small and flat they were very dry, burnt around the edges. They used to be generous with rice. Not any more!
