This is a coveted spot, quite visible from the highway. It was stunning on Sunday with the warmer weather. Blue skies, cool breeze and calm waters:) The asphalt trail is perfect for walking dogs or riding a bike and loops around back to the parking once completed. It gets confusing at the end of the trail because it feels as if there is no further you can go....but you would have to just walk along the side of the main road to get back to cars.
There are docks, fishing is allowed and this lake has water lillies:) There are cove-live shady spots along the lake that are very pretty. I caught a cute pic of a kid climbing the tall trees and hanging from the branches. I also noticed the thoughtful man-made bird houses for the birds. Great for kayaking.

Read moreOkay place for a walk if you live close and need a trail, and I've heard the fishing is pretty good, but personally, I think this place is mostly just a good spot for I-70 travelers (particularly ones with canine companions) needing to stretch their legs. The highway noise is positively deafening - you'll see warblers in the trees, but you won't be able to hear them. 😦 This element kinda makes it feel like a glorified rest stop, and even on THAT count it falls short, what that the vault toilet (with no TP... ) and no running water.
