Stopped for a rare mini-golf date with the wife. We try to play a game on every trip and are fans of the semi-serious courses. We like some challenge, some gimmicks, but not something that takes all the skill away. This fit the bill perfectly.
Prices are reasonable-ish at ~14/game. The course was in generally good condition with some of the greens not being that uniform, and some of the holes sitting a bit high (resulting in a lip extending above the surface of the green). Will most people notice or care? No. But we take mini-golf seriously. Dinner is usually on the line.
There was lots of water, lots of scenery (including a popular selfie gorilla and giraffe), and just enough challenge on each hole. I was a bit surprised by the lack of beer available, but maybe that's a Florida thing. Ice cream treats could be had at the 'clubhouse' by the very friendly gentleman running things.
We had a wonderful time, and would probably rate it 4 to 4.5 stars, however each ticket is good for a second round same-day....which easily bumps this up to a 5* visit thanks to quality and value, even though we didn't take advantage. We nearly did after dinner, but it had...
Read moreWe've been visiting Bonita and coming to Golf Safari for 20 years and always have a great time! The place is well maintained and every hole has it's own challenges. It's been fun watching it evolve over the years. The staff, especially Cindy who's been there so long she's starting to feel like part of the family, are all great and are generous with the deals! They recently started a Club and will send you HALF OFF deals around the major holidays! I've found if we want to play when there's no deal going on all we have to do is send them an email and they'll send us back one and you can just show the coupon on your cell phone so you don't need a printer. How do you beat that? We play for about $5 a person EVERYTIME we play! Is it the best mini-golf ever? Probably not. But throw in the deals and it gets 5 stars from me! Oh, I forgot, extra rounds are free and you can come back as much as you want if you show them your receipt. Not sure how they do it but it's the best entertainment...
Read moreThe kids had a BLAST! We went on a Wednesday I believe, where it is $5 to play as much as you want. The kids I took were ages 4-9. They got a prize each time they complete the course (a little thing of Play-Doh or something small that made them feel big ;)), so they played the course twice. They were super into it, stayed focused, followed the rules, etc. They sell ice cream and water for $1 each. The course has seen better days and is a little run down, but I thinks it's still cute and the kids loved the fake animals and stuff. I would for sure...
