Since I work with dogs for a living, I struggle a bit in an environment where people don't see the same things I do when it comes to their dogs. I see the body language. The little signals dogs give off in a social setting that their humans don't always recognize. And my advice and expertise is not asked for or welcomed, which is understandable, hence why I don't give it unless requested. So when a tiff breaks out between two or more dogs, it is difficult to shut off my work ingrained response and keep from running towards a stranger's dog to break it up myself. I especially don't like when an owner's immediate response is to start yelling at the other owner to get their "aggressive dog" out of the dog park. That dog wasn't aggressive. He was overwhelmed. The park was over-crowded that day. And several of the dogs swarmed the Rottie as soon as he came in. And none of the owners stepped in to help or correct this. The park itself is nice. Lots of space for the dogs to run, water stations. The problem was the people. A little compassion and understanding goes a long way. Dogs can't communicate the way we do. Read moreWent inside the dog park to chat the dog owners before bringing my 2 young dogs to socialize them and got bite I got bite in the face!!! A black collie was excited, jumped on me getting me covered in mud, fine its a dog park. Jumped up a second time, i pushed girl away but not before she nicked my chin with her teeth. The owner this time said no jumping. His dog came a third time but was pushed back. My chin was feeling very warm and tingling. His dog got his back hair up and started getting more rough playing with a pitbull. The owner decided it was time to leave. I started talking o the pitbull owner and we all realized my chin was bleeding. I do believe this was an accident and super glad i didnt bring my dogs in to this park.

Read moreOverall a very decent dog bark and one I will continue to attempt to. Currently it has been under repair and construction so I've been able to attend in a few months. So I hope to see new good things out of it. It's a nice convenient North Davis dog park which is hard to find! So I'm very grateful for what I have. The only downside is I feel like the trash bins are constantly overflowing and that there's never any dog bags. So at least I can bring my own so that's something. all in all the parking lot is nice and the gate is nice to get in to make sure no dog's getting out. And it's a decent size considering it's location.
Update: They have done a nice job trying to and keep the ground clean and preserve grass. Very pleased with what they have...
