Had a great experience at China Star today. Drove by the sign that said “New Hibachi Service” so decided to try it for lunch. The food was delicious. The chef had been hibachi trained in NYC and was skilled at all the usual tricks and banter, which provided a fun atmosphere. Cost was approx $15/person, which is reasonable for hibachi during lunchtime. My wife and I had the filet mignon and shrimp and shared them. The entrees came with fried rice, veggies, and soup or salad. Everyone in our party felt the portion size was appropriate for lunchtime prices. Overall, we had a terrific experience. Glad to have this service now in Bountiful.

Ordered Chicken Chow Mein and received a cabbage chicken dish. When I called the restaurant, two people tried to tell me that chow mein doesn't have noodles in it and that I was wrong. When I corrected them they said they would send me lo mein. I ordered a stir fried noodle dish and the attached photo is what they sent me. Will never order from them again when I'm flat told I'm wrong.

Ever since the HO HO Gourmet closed down, we have been on the hunt for another good Chinese restaurant. China Star is pretty decent! :) We really like their service and their food is pretty good. I wish that they had Peking Spare Ribs, but I am sure that I will find another new favorite eventually. I can say that their Lo Mein noodles... those are pretty delicious!

This was our first time eating here, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our experience! We went on a quiet evening, just 1.5 hrs before closing, and the woman helping us was incredibly sweet and helpful (she even laughed at all of our dumb jokes 😆) Right after we were seated, we were quickly offered drinks and were given a complimentary plate of fried wonton strips with sweet & sour sauce for dipping. 🤤 For an appetizer, we ordered the pan-fried potstickers, and we ate all of them before we even thought to take a picture 😂 We were RAVENOUS. They looked a little darker in color with pork inside, and they were served with a simple dipping sauce. I’m picky with dumplings, and I will definitely be ordering them again! After that, my husband and I ordered family-style and split the Beef Lo Mein and the Walnut Shrimp- pictured below 👇 Simple, full of flavor, and more than enough for two of us. We even had enough leftovers for each of us to have leftovers today for a small lunch (which reheated very nicely). If you’re looking for something to scratch that Chinese-American food itch, give China Star a shot. It seems like they have a bunch of other menu items that we’d love to try, so we’ll definitely be back! Especially to bring some friends to try out their...

I was trying driving around, trying to decide what to eat. I decided on China Star. Never been here, thought why not. I like Chinese food. Ordered On-line, or tried to order on line. It kept kicking me out. I did not add a tip, thought I would see when I picked it up. Would not let me finish w/o adding a tip. Strange, but whatever. So I hit the custom buttom, pay when I pick-up. Waites for order verification notification code. It came, tried to punch it in, totally got kicked out, and started again. I'm in the parking lot now, sonI said, forget it. I'll go inside. First thing I notice, is the 8" DEAD KOI, FLOATING in the small fish tank. NICE! Wonder how long that's been there??? No one paying attention to it, so.... maybe a bit.

Waiting for someone to take my order at the counter... very small dining area, intimidatingly small. Hoping maybe a bigger dining area somewhere? Who knows, I place my family sized order and hope the food is better than the...

We’ve ordered out from this restaurant before and didn’t like it, but thought we would give it another chance in hopes that what we ordered this time would be better. We were SORELY mistaken! The chicken lo mein noodles were overcooked, mushy noodles that had no flavor, with two pieces of chicken in two helpings. The chicken curry had little-to-no juice and was LOADED with salt. The beef in the “Three Ingredients” tasted as though it had been microwaved, and there were FOUR pieces of shrimp in this dish. The ham fried rice is flavorless. SO disappointed that we paid $47 for this when we could’ve gone to Panda Express & paid half the price and we only would’ve been half as disappointed. We will NEVER be coming back to this place again. It’s amazing that places like this with such terrible food stay in business for so long. I only put one star because I had to in order to post. Two...
