Wight House on Main — Attraction in Bountiful

The Wight house was able to work with me although my wedding date was fast approaching. Here are my thoughts of my wedding which was 7 months ago in June. 1. The staff was great to me, at least. Being the bride I'm sure I only saw some of the hustle and bustle but they sent me and my husband off with a box of food to eat later which was MUCH appreciated and seemed kind and courteous. 2. I was a little flustered when the ring ceremony we had on the roof was too hot. They expressed that they may have the umbrellas they ordered on time to cover it so it would be bearable, but since there were no umbrellas my guests were over heated and miserable. Here is to wishing we would have taken the extra step to make an indoor ring ceremony happen last minute. 3. I asked them to rearrange specific pictures in a certain way and met with Tricia about it to make sure it would be done, however at the reception, to my disappointment, the pictures were placed in frames and scattered instead of set up how I wished them to be and even laid out prior. 4. The food was good. My guests seemed satisfied. All in all they listened to me and took most of my wants and wishes into consideration, they did add a few pieces to the decor I didn't ask for (chalkboard) but it was a lovely day and still the best day of my life. We had an awful experience here. When we arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled time their was still food on tables from the group before us. They cleared the food in that 30 minutes and did nothing else. The floor had food that was never swept during our entire party. Management was nowhere to be found. We moved our own tables and put out the tablecloths and napkins. We filled our own water glasses. We did not have enough silverware for our meals. We did not receive our meals til 2 hours after scheduled time. When we received food it was cold and unappetizing. By the time we got our food the next group was waiting to come in. The staff allowed the next group to start setting up their stuff while we were still there. Management through this entire event did not once come and apologize for all the issues. Worst owner and manager I've ever worked for. Never seen such disrespect & unwillingness to take advice from those that have been in the business for a while. I feel so bad for the wonderful couple that had their luncheon there a few weeks ago.

The food was unappealing, we were short-staffed, the owner (Charlene) was extremely rude to the staff, guests & let her son run around screaming behind the scenes & into the event itself. (And into the kitchen while food was being prepped wearing only a diaper & shirt)

The facility has a lot of potential but will never see it under the current owner/management. We had to involve local police in order to get paid because she refused to give us ( me and 5 other previous employees) our checks.
