Atlantic Lock - Here is my Review, please read the whole review as there are two points here.
Labor and overall service - is excellent, I was very pleased with the finished locks, doorknobs and deadbolt. I had four different doors done. Each one had something different. I had a locking deadbolt installed, a sliding bolt, a locking Doorknob and a regular old doorknob without a lock installed. Done all in one day, the Locksmith who came did the entire job in about one hour. Only con is he no longer travels with a dust buster so I had to vacuum up the wood shavings he made from the work he did to install the deadbolt. No big deal, it wasn't very much and I didn't really mind, but he could have told me this ahead of time and I would have put down paper or a plastic sheet or even a disposable bed pad, all of which I had.
Fees - Now this is where I felt taken advantage of and in particular I would have liked to have been told this ahead of time as I might not have used this company had I known the fees that are charged. First you are charged a Service Fee, that's the fee the guy gets just for showing up at your house. That's like $85 bucks. Then he charges above that fee a Labor fee, so not only is he charging to come to your house, but he's charging you for his labor. This is fine, I have no issue with a Labor fee, my issue is the Service Fee. What's that for? You want your mileage paid, sure I'll pay for your mileage, but just showing up at my house is $85 bucks and then I have to pay you for Labor too???? Nope. That feels like you're taking advantage of me and it feels like inappropriate double dipping.
Parts & Tax - I have no issues with these fees. This is standard and it's fine.
This Service fee and Labor fee is where I take issue. And because of that and because I was not told that I'd be paying those two fees, I will not be recommending this Locksmith and I won't be calling this company again. And I actually need another doorknob changed, but not by...
Read moreI just wanted to share with everyone what an incredible experience I had with Atlantic Lock & Safe in Bradley Beach. I brought them a fireproof lockbox that I had from years ago and I had lost the key to. They were having difficulty picking the lock and finding a key for it, so they suggested I just leave it and they would call me when they got it open. I didn't believe that I had left anything of value in it as it was used for a past home business I had closed a couple years back, so I agreed to leave it. About an hour later, they called me. When I arrived, it turns out that I had forgotten about a large amount of money that was stored in a bottom compartment. They could have easily taken the money and I wouldn't have known the difference, but they were honest! And on top of already being an incredibly honest and good people, they weren't going to charge me for their time to open the box since they were unable to change out the lock or make me a new key for it. I insisted to pay them something, but I felt the need to share since there is typically so much negativity...

I was out with my wife and toddler taking a jug handle in Oakhurst and the Atlantic Lock and safe van is tailgating us and honking its horn excessively. It's foggy and rainy so we are just trying to be cautious navigating the turn. The driver was so impatient he proceeded to double line us and pass in that busy area just on the other side of the highway. Called to speak to someone at the shop and left a message with my name and number and no one got back to me. I can't speak to their skills in the trade, however if you drive like that in a business vehicle it gives your company a really bad name! Please talk to your drivers about being safe on the road and sharing it with others! Please consider who you are supporting by going to this place who obviously doesn't care about other people's lives...
