This review is specifically for the CHICHARRON...
UPDATE 5.15. * BOTTOM *PHOTOS SHOW THE INTEGRITY & CHARACTER OF THIS BUSINESS OWNER.
Without a doubt thee foulest tasting pork I have improperly ingested, to date.
I arrived three minutes after the time specified "ready for pickup". No real conversation took place so I will not speak of service or atmosphere. I was handed my food stapled shut. CHICHARRON was in aluminum container with a breathable aluminum and paper cover.
Before I took off, I figure I take a quick bite The first bite was all meat, bland without salt. I placed it back, left container open so it wouldn't sog up.
10min later I reach for a piece with skin, fat, & meat... the PORK skin is just that, SKIN. UNCOOKED, THE FAT UNCOOKED
The PORK SKIN tastes chemically treated Something in the skin pulled, not cut, tore at a tastebud, leaving the tip lower right of my tongue, bleeding. THE TASTE OF CHEMICAL REMAINS IN MY THROAT.
*opened the second one. Smells of old oil and chemicals used to clean ovens. It appears to be cooked just for color as none of it is cooked properly.
I place two orders. One remains untouched. The other I trashed in anger.
I am on a modest budget and wanted to treat myself. Wasted money, feel queasy, still very hungry but no time.
I do not recommend the CHICHARRON to anyone.
Should I fall ill, I will absolutely know the culprit. When where and why.
UPDATE: This business owner has taken accountability for yesterday's ordeal. I was phoned & texted. I feel vindicated in regard to my review. There are so many individuals who come on here for the sole purpose of complaining for petty reason. As an individual on the spectrum, letting an injustice go, one that may bring harm to others, is not something I am capable of doing.
Another matter I cannot let slide, is not giving the proper respect to a human admitting to their indiscretion. Thank you for...
Read moreWhere do I start… When I arrive I was taken back because from the website it showed an outside dining area. When I arrive there was no dining area outside I was told “Oh that was pre-Covid” sooo now that most restaurants have outside you all decided to now no longer have outside dining??? I let that go! I placed an order to go vegetable chimichanga, vegetable taco and vegetable nachos. I received a rice and bean chimichanga no vegetables at all! I received peppers and onions and about 5 black beans on my nachos. I received peppers and onions and 1 mushroom in my tacos. That’s it! In the description on the menu it indicated the vegetables are: mushrooms, squash, asparagus, peppers, and onions with rice and black beans. I went back to the restaurant to ask if they were out the vegetables and was told that’s how the items I ordered are prepared. I never received a clear response if they ever have the actual vegetables listed in the description. The restaurant advised that they would re-make the chimichanga and nachos again. When I received that order the chips were stall and I couldn’t even eat them. The chimichanga had different rice which was wet and weird it seem like someone deliberately did something to the food after during the re-make. I didn’t eat it because it looked weird. I won’t be back they don’t wear masks or wash their hands. No one wears gloves and the women in front checkout the customers and go back to handling food without washing their hands. There is no sanitation guidelines put in place at this...
Read moreHad awesome tacos and another steak dinner, and the food is 100% authentic, fresh, and worthy of 4.8 stars. Slight issue with the sauces; they're more like water, so make sure if you want green or red hot sauce, you have something ready on your own. So why 2 stars? The ordering app tries to automatically add a 20% tip to the to-go order. This isn't even delivery. I had to add a $$$ tip because I was literally ordering for 4 people and was scared I wouldn't get enough chips, limes, or beans in the rice & beans. Then when I got there, I watched a young girl at the counter picking up a small order for herself, and the person working the counter put the terminal in front of her with these same tip suggestions. I saw the look on her face, and it was clear she just wanted to pay her $9.00 and not be shamed or pressured into adding another $2.00 for picking up her own food. Her discomfort made me feel even more uncomfortable, thinking, "Did I tip enough for my to-go order that I had to walk 2 blocks to pick up?" My message here is, "Charge what you need to charge and pay your workers enough so that you don't make customers feel awkward." I can't go back. I'm embarrassed for the workers that have to feel like they're begging to make a...
