I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico. We ate here today, Monday, 10/14/24, around 4:00 p.m., it was our first visit. The food was awesome! We each had Enchiladas De Mole Oaxaqueño con Pollo ( Chicken ) comes with rice and beans on the side. The chicken was tender, the Mexican rice was fresh and excellent, the beans were good. The side of Salsa Picante ordered specially, was great on the rice. The most delicious item was the Mole Oaxaquena; dark, rich, and with some spice!!! Also had a side of Guacamole that was fresh and very good! Orchata was good. The tortillas are handmade! Prices were very fair and the place is BYOB. I would recommend this establishment for an authentic Mexican meal!!! Most Especially…..the Mole Oaxaquena!!! Atmosphere and Decor was okay. The servers were friendly and efficient! As with most places, bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

From the fresh squeezed juices to the fresh ingredients used in our dinner everything was excellent. The chips, sauces, and guacamole you could taste were homemade. We both got enchiladas I got the red sauce and my boyfriend got the verde. If you like some spice the red will be your favorite. I barely got to taste his because he was finished before I could ask for a bite ... you could say he very much enjoyed his… on the other hand I still have half my dinner that I can’t wait to reheat for lunch because it was a lot of food.We will definitely be back maybe next time to dine in since they had tables which was nice to see, having both options.. next time I’ll opt for the larger horchata, the small wasn’t tiny but it was so good I didn’t want it to end. I would definitely recommend, so excited for this new business in town!

If you’re going to a concert in asbury and looking for a dynamite meal this is the place. All the different sauces that were brought out with their nachos were so tasty we kept them to dip everything else in or pour over the food. The birria tacos were out of this world! Not oily at all, crisp to perfection. Highly recommend ordering a few of these bc you won’t want to share. If we lived closer we would be regulars, unfortunately we do not. So keep them busy for us so we can enjoy their food when we go down to visit again.

A must!!!!!!! 4 stars and 5 diamonds!!!!! My family and I had dinner at Oaxaca by the Sea the other night and the experience as well as the food was unmatched by any other Mexican restaurant we have dined in. Firstly, Lia, the owner is very welcoming. She makes you feel as if you are a guest in her home. All of her team are very nice and helpful. Everything is made fresh daily and to order. You must have the Horchata. This drink is made daily and simply delicious. Before our meal, we ordered the guacamole. It was the right balance of creaminess, a little heat, and so fresh. The Tacos De Birria were the best we ever had. The El Pastor Tacos were juicy and so delicious. Lia's tortillas are homemade as well. We ordered the Steak Rancheros. Very generous portion and cooked to perfection. The chicken quesadilla and chorizo quesadilla melted in your mouth. The cheese didn't overpower the chicken and chorizo, so you really tasted how delicious the chicken and chorizo were. The chicken and steak fajitas were flavorful beyond. Tender and juicy and yes, again, a very generous portion. Dessert is also made fresh to order. We ordered the homemade churros and homemade flan. Very generous portions and simply out of this world. The churros were light and just the right amount of crunch, dusted with cinnamon and sugar. It was served with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. So creamy and fresh. The flan was the best we ever had. For all we ordered and ate, the price was beyond affordable. Can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu. Thank...

Tried it last week based on all the great reviews…and specifically because I read they have a better burrito than a bunch of other spots that made a “list”.

Came back tonight (one week later) because it was so delicious and the staff was so gracious, kind, and fun!

Food is absolutely made with love! There is no doubt that they want to “Wow!” you with each dish. The type of food, that if you made it yourself, you’d be proud, and even look forward to serve to your friends!!!

Tonight we got the Torta Campesina, Chorizo nachos (again cause they were sooo good) and chorizo tacos. Last week we had the Milaneza De Rez Torta, Nachos and carnitas tacos. In 23 years of having the pleasure of eating Mexican tortas, these are in the top two, if not the best. The steak is tender, spiced and slightly smokey.

The chorizo (mild, maybe mildly spicy depending on your tolerance. And slightly Smokey) nachos are heavily topped with all the listed ingredients, including a very generous amount of chorizo. Easily two “portions” of toppings if you were at another establishment.

Both were take out orders. We’re really looking forward to eating in next time to try some of the more traditional dishes. Excited to try the mole, pambazos, and many others that I’m forgetting the name of rn.

With so many options, the burrito is getting overlooked. Will definitely have to fix that.

Lastly, back to the staff…it’s rare that you are fortunate enough to encounter a crew like they have here! Top tier...

I love food, especially food made with love and ample flavor.

I went here over the summer, finding it on a whim via Google maps. And thank God I did!

The atmosphere: When you park, it's a small space in a small shopping Plaza, although when you walk in, it's much larger than the exterior would make you feel. And for all the smallness that it seems like it'd be...the moment you walk in you're transported into a place with a lot of personality to it.

That and the authenticity of the menu. The food is abundant, filling, and oh-so-tasty. I had leftovers for days, and that was after I left with a full belly.

I forget the actual name of it, but I had ordered a piping-hot, served in a volcano stone bowl, that was briming with a wide selection of proteins & other "mains" (think vegan options) in a spicy red sauce, served with tortillas, beans, rice, guacamole, & sour cream.

To say I left happy is an understatement. And as someone who covers restaurants, events, & other business openings--I NEED to highlight Oaxaca by The Sea on my radio show (Food Farms And Chefs) to give it the level of love it...
