Worst administration. They go based off rumors and not facts. Another teacher or student says a student did something wrong and they don’t even attempt to find the actual truth, they automatically believe the other person because “we hired them for a reason”. They don’t specify on all the rules and regulations at the school either, and like to create other rules when they realize the penalty they’re trying to give, isn’t actually specified in the code of conduct, so they use the excuse “you’re going against professionalism” for everything because there’s not an actual rule prohibiting whatever you did. They try gaining your trust and make you feel like they care about your success when they just care about getting money! Most of the teachers there are amazing! And some of the regular faculty is so awesome too. Like Chrisy, she’s a gem! But the administration, such as Kreft and DeMars act like they care but they don’t. Also the program is very accelerated so be prepared for false advertisement of “there’s plenty of resources for help”. There is not. Mentors are assigned to help students but, they hired other students to be mentors rather than an actual staff member/teacher. So of course with that poor logic, a student mentor that happens to also be a student has their own school work to worry about, so helping other students comes after their own priorities. They’re great mentors, just when they have the time to be. It’s never guaranteed that a student will get the proper help that they need without potentially over stressing a student mentor out or over filling their plate. Also, the way they run kennel duty is a joke. They assign nearly the same people to the same thing every time, so students rarely get a chance to experience caring for all the different animals there. And there’s definitely favoritism at the school. Also, numerous animals have bitten or attacked one another because people don’t know what they’re doing. The school is so highly spoke of for being such a great school. When in all reality, it’s just like any other veterinary school except they overload you with such an accelerated pace, tricking everyone into wanting to join because “oh it’s fast paced I can graduate sooner” until you realize how much they overload you. Student drop out left and right from the school every term. Be prepared to be set up for failure at this school. I’m happily at another much better school now, so all things happen...
Read moreWords do not do this school justice. I am so thankful for the experience I have had at Fox. I will not lie when I say it is not easy, and needs to be your top priority. But you are rewarded heavily for the effort you put into this school. I formed amazing friendships and great relationships with all of my instructors who believed in me and allowed me to push through this program. I was fortunate enough to stay above a 3.5 gpa and had the role of mentor supervisor during my time at Fox, and it was the best decision I could have made for myself. I feel incredibly prepared for my career as a Vet Tech and I know I am going to pass my VTNE on my first try thanks to the time and effort that these teachers put into me and my education. This is not a place where you can slack off, and when you do is when you see the decline in your grades. I have never seen better cared for animals and the Kennel Manager, Jess does everything in her power to ensure students are taking care of them to the highest standard. I would like to give a special shout out to Dr.B, Ms.Payne, and Ms.Wray who push you to be your best and truly care about your well-being throughout the vet tech program. I have no regrets going to this school, and am so excited to be moving onto my externship after 16 great months in this...
Read moreWent to an animal adoption event in 2022 that they have there. I guess they take rescues and then allow students to practice administering vaccines and whatnot? Anyway, ended up adopting a sweet little 45 lb hound/boxer mix in which they told me nothing about her other than she came from Mississippi. Turns out she had heartworm and had to pay over $2,000 in her treatments. Also did not tell me about her aggression with other animals and found out the hard way when she attacked our 16 lbs Boston terrier multiple times and put her in the hospital. After trying to keep her in our family because we love her, we tried training for 2 years until we decided we can no longer keep her due to the aggression. Called this college and what a surprise they do not take back dogs and also told me to reach out to NAWS shelter because they “work closely with that shelter” so I did and NAWS relayed to me that they in fact do NOT work with this college. Thank you for reading, you...
