One of my favorite trips this year. Pilot Cove in the Pisgah Forest, NC is a beautiful place to stay, close to Brevard, the waterfalls, and less than an hour from Asheville. #nc #northcarolina #pisgahforest #brevardnc #ncmountains #visitnc

Our group of 5 stayed mid-October for 2 nights in a 2BR cabin and everyone loved it! There was a minor hiccup during booking (no fault of Pilot Cove) but after talking with Lane and Collin they were extremely helpful and quickly remedied the problem – great guys! This was our first time to the area (Pisgah NF, Brevard, and DuPont) and loved how convenient Pilot Cove was to explore all three areas. As soon as you enter, you feel at home. Every aspect of the cabin was thoughtfully designed and decorated down to every little detail. There’s even a boot tray in the mud room to store your dirty boots after a day of hiking! The layout of the bathroom can accommodate multiple people and they even provide you with toiletries. If you plan on cooking meals, the kitchen is fully equipped with any utensil/glassware/pot or pan you may need – even wine glasses and a beautiful table that easily accommodated our group of 5. The textiles in the living room and bedrooms are cozy and plentiful for those chilly mornings and evenings in fall. Our favorite spot was the covered back deck – it had multiple Adirondack chairs and even had hooks to hang our 2 hammocks. The cabin is located just minutes from town, but you still feel like you’re in the forest. For instance, on our last night Halley’s Comet was orbiting (only happens every 75yrs) so at 2a we walked up the road, laid out a blanket and watched the Orionid meteor shower with enough darkness– what a cool experience! I could keep going on and on about Pilot Cove and the awesome things they’ve done but trust me, you need to go and experience it for yourself (even though I selfishly want to keep it a secret)! I’m excited to see what Pilot Cove does next on their property and can’t wait for our return!

The best location to enjoy all Brevard has to offer. From Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, and only minutes away from all the restaurants and bars. Family friendly down to earth people who take care of this place. I will be making this a Family Tradition.

My husband and I met friends there for the weekend. Very peaceful. The decks make you feel like you are high up in a tree house not at no steps ground level cabin. They thought of everything. A mud room with drain, recycling bins, washer and dryer (pods included), full size kitchen (garbage disposal & dishwasher) and 2 car parking at each cabin. They even have Wifi, charging stations, and music stations. It was the little details that kept impressing me; like the multiple rings for hanging hammocks on the deck. Out of the box ideas like; bike handles as hanging hooks, bike tire frames as mirror frames. Have wine but forgot the opener? They got you covered. Need a koozie for that ice cold beer...look in one of the kitchen drawer. When they had to cut a tree down...the wood was then taken to local craftmen and turned into tables. Bed frames made from reclaimed wood. Artwork from local artist. Old black and white photos are all from Pisgah area families. Each cabin storages it's own rainwater for landscaping. Multi use large no step front covered porch; ideal for gatherings or wash off your bikes. Even a spot to lock them up. They knew we were meeting friends, they managed to give us cabins next to each other, nice touch. Need anything? No worries the live on site manager, Syl Neel is only a phone call away. What a bite to eat or belly up to a bar or even need milk? Just walk down the hill and take your pick. Don't want to make coffee yourself? Wall down the hill to the coffee truck and grab a made from scratch donut. Both nights we turned the AC off, opened both sliding doors and closed the sliding screen doors for some fresh mountain night air. Drifted off to sleep with a mountain lullaby thanks to the...

Would not recommend for large groups as there is apparently no place on the property to gather without paying $1000 to rent out the amphitheater. And no, you can't use the small firepit next to the amphitheater without paying, either.

The stay is great as long as you don't have to interact with management. If you do, be prepared to be accosted over a simple misunderstanding. When unable to simply apologize, they'll double down and blame you for not knowing you needed to pay to rent out the amphitheater NEXT to the fire pit and call you childish for hanging up on their condescending rant. Apparently we were just lucky not to be kicked out.

Also, the mountain bike trails are currently impassable.

Phil - Your firewood is right where you left it

Re: Owner's response

Your response and handling of the overall situation is completely unprofessional. Approaching guests antagonistically and lying about both use of items that we did not use and that others from my party left good reviews (we didn't, and we haven't)

It is not clear anywhere on your website or from your communication that it was necessary to pay to use the fire pit next to the amphitheater. I understand charging for events, but we were simply paying guests (we rented 5 cabins) that wanted a spot to hang out together. While yes, there were some table and chairs sitting there, we did not use any consumable items (like firewood) as we provided our own. Phil condescendingly told us to go buy firewood at Walmart when he mistakenly thought we had used the firewood he'd accidentally left laying around. (We didn't, it's still right there where he left it).

Lane, from the further ridiculous manner in which you've handled this, I've lowered my...
