Ok here what to buy and what not buy in the store to help some people in there shopping needs at this location, take it from me I have the inside scoop on this place and this is a honest reveiw from first hand experience as an ex employee, ok 👍fishing dept. Is awesome you can get anything you need for fishing, 👍shooting and hunting aswell has some deals going on ammo and firearms on certain seasons, now the bad 👎 Tracker boats and ATV’s. Here is where you throw away thousands of dollars on cheap made products- lets start with the ATV’s, the worst machine ever made with the most recalls, the cheapest plastic and aluminum built trash golf cart style peice of junk built but being sold as atv’s they are not, You will eventually waste money on and eventually be pissed off that you wasted a few thousand in the first place because your Atv will Have to be serviced all the time, second is the boats -poorly made straight from factory! give it about a year of regular use and the boat will start having defects in paint body and structure from tracker to mako to the pontoons which is not being manufactured the same as the 90’-2000’s versions, as you will get the fiberglass boats of this store with stress cracks brand new and thats something you don’t ever wanna see now ranger had partnered or been bought by bps so they will start to lose there credibility as well, tracker boats have always been a smaller boat for the fresh water fisherman and sadly these boats are now garbage as the aluminum boat are rusting faster then the older versions aswell. They are over priced and for the quality of the boat its not worth the purchase in my book, the only thing BPS has going for them in the marine world is Mercury motors which they can get pretty fast from the factory other then that there is one service tech there named alex who is holding the service dept. and shop alive by a needle and thread if they didn’t have him there wouldn’t be a certified tech so ask who is working on your boat cuz if aint him then you not getting the certified work you paying for, 👎👎mangement knows nothing about servicing of boats or how to service them in general which is sad, Ive know many techs who have great talents and where able to produce great results but do to improper management procedures( they got let go due to the new manager J.H. As his experience was in Landscaping lol imagine your manager asking you what navi lights are and expecting him to answer a motor issue that you may have.) the parts guy knows his stuff and can get you mainly anything you need for your boat and last but not least they have gps and navi systems on hand but thats the stores boating and marine dept which gets 1 star in may book because they not professional… 🍔🍕Now the restaurent is ok to eat at but the bar is not really a real bar its just there for show the bowling is fun as well as the arcade And there you have a true reveiw of whats seems to be a very popular store here in bridgeport ct. but be warned shopping here you will deal with weird sales people as some of them are a bit older and have listening problems or mental problems in general or some of them just dont care to help you and ping pong you to someone else who also may not know or care about what it is you want. Season sales are a plus here during holiday you might find great gift ideas so this store has a ok to good rating on products to a very bad and why the heck did I just experience at this place with these weirdos vibe but I guess that every where.. but warning stay away from the boating dept. Bust out another thousand means something in this place but very overpriced and not very well built you get my...

Love Everything about this place, I have been going to the BPS in Bridgeport for more years than I can remember, and I have always had nothing short of great experiences there, I always make sure to make it to the Spring Fishing Classic to buy a few rods and reels that I absolutely don't need lol, I went there yesterday to pick up a new Humminbird GPS. To make a long story shorter, I awaited around much longer than anyone should have to wait to be helped. I walked away and I was gradually going to make my way out of the store disappointed and without my intended purchase, a little upset because its also a 100 mile roundtrip to not get what I needed, then an associate by the name of Vinnie stumbled onto me while I was looking at jigs, and all I can say is that Vinnie erased what would have been my very 1st negative experience at Bass Pro and completely turned it around, he got on the radio communicated with other associates and within minutes I had my new GPS, feeling a bit better now, I continued to shop around, and guess what Vinnie was there again to make sure I was finding everything I needed, feeling much better now I then moved onto the fishing reels department and was helped by another associate by the name of TY , he showed me a few reels, as they didn't have the one I wanted in stock, he made a few suggestions of different styles that were really comparable, he checked inventory and tried everyway possible to see if could locate or if they were scheduled to receive that reel I was looking for. I left without any reels yesterday but having associates as helpful as Ty continues to draw me back to BPS Bridgeport, and while I did not get any reels yesterday after dwelling on it overnight, I decided I could live with Ty's suggestion. Prior to me writing this review I spoke with Ty and I will be picking up 2 reels on Friday. Lastly I will end by saying that I ran into Vinny one last time and he checked in with me again and pointed me in the direction of a certain hook I was looking for. You know Vinnie recognized that I wasn't to happy at 1st and he went above and beyond to ensure that I was able to locate everything I needed and to make sure my shopping experience was a positive one. Associates like Vinny and Ty are treasures and they are the ones who keep patrons as myself going back. I am sure the entire team at Bridgeport BPS are all treasures but I wanted to share my experience with the 2 I encountered yesterday. Keep up the...

This rating is for my experience with an employee named Leah in the hunting department at the Bridgeport, CT location. I’ve never know anyone to have such a terrible firearm purchase experience like I did. The stores selection is minimal, so I had to purchase it online and ship to the store for pickup. Leah had asked if it was my first purchase and I told her it was. So I expected clear guidance through the process.

The application is completed on a touch screen at there store. Some of the questions have contradicting verbiage that almost seem intended for someone to answer incorrectly. At no point did she walk me through these questions KNOWING I was not familiar with any of it. I’m not even sure why she asked that question at this point since I didn’t receive the guidance.

Once the application was completed…she first said the purchase was going to have to be put on hold. Then she said I couldn’t purchase the firearm TODAY. THEN I had to play 21 questions to try and understand what was going on. THEN she said I could never purchase a firearm from their stores for misunderstanding a question on the app she didn’t bother to explain.

She was very robotic, short with her answers, possessed a pretty unkind manner, and didn’t care to explain ANYTHING in CLEAR detail. I felt like she genuinely did not want to help me and I felt she treated me like a criminal. It isn’t even a state policy, it’s their store policy. It was extremely upsetting to receive no guidance and be treated so poorly. I’ve never received that kind of treatment from an employee at a retail store. I was absolutely stunned. The fact she’s been there five years, …she should understand what customer service is and how to provide customer knowledge of store products/services.

I went to a different, local gun shop whom had a much better selection, more knowledge, and walked me through the application process. It was 1000% better of an experience than with Bass Pro.

I would never recommend purchasing a firearm from Bass Pro. The way I was treated and the service alone will prevent me from ever making any kind of purchase at that store. If you do go, ask for someone who...

In October of 2022 I purchased a brand new Nitro Z21xl. The boat was ordered with 1 tracker lithium starting battery and 3 tracker lithium 80 AH deep cycle batteries. To date I have had to replace 6 of the batteries. That’s 6 batteries replaced under warranty in 17 months. Today is April 28th 2024. After reaching out to bass pro in Bridgeport CT, to replace yet another tracker lithium battery, I was told that I could come in to swap out the bad battery under warranty. After making the hour and ten minute drive to the bass pro store in Bridgeport Connecticut, the customer service representative and the tracker marine representative stated that they would not swap out the battery under warranty because it was part of a boat order, and not purchased off of their shelf. When I explained that this would be the sixth time I have swapped out a bad tracker lithium battery, they stated that the previous five times I have replaced the warranty should not have been done. Bass pro understands that they have an issue with these batteries. In the past 17 months there have been 3 revisions to the deep cycle marine battery. I have all three of them in my boat. It is a shame after spending tens of thousands of dollars on a bass pro product that clients are treated like this. I will never spend another penny at bass pro or cabelas again. If customer service would like to reach out to me, please feel free. These batteries will leave you stranded on the water, and when they do, and you need to be towed in, bass pro will not honor the warranty in the batteries.

This is more like a city than a store. They have a lot of things and the store is very clean and interesting. Prices are very high. They seem to cater to wealthier clientele. Help was available but the guy in the boat dales department pawned me off to another guy who wasn't around. Kids will like the live fish display and the underwater themed boing alley. If your child is NOT nto fishing or hunting...This place might not be for them. They might prefer live critters instead of preserved ones and you might have to explain more than you want to. The customers here know what they want and what they are looking for. Novice folk might need a GPS to navigate the store. UPDATE - AUGUST 21, 2022 The store is not as filled as it used to be. Some areas are missing products. Proces a little high...but that's everywhere. A lot of things you want but can't really justify buying...but that could just be me. Kid friendly. Still a must see if you are in the area.

For the record, I really love the store and what they have to offer. They’re really a one stop shop for all your outdoor activity needs. However, some of the customer service personnel in the hunting department do need some updated service training. I’ve been to this specific location a total of three times within the past 3 months and have had some level of disappointment each time. I will say that generally speaking, they are not too keen or friendly about out of state sales. Most sales people do not know how to do a FFL transfer from CT (where their store is located) to NY. Each time, it took 3-5 employees to figure out and process the transaction, literally. All in all, most of the staff were very nice and helpful. If you’re from NYC or Westchester, it’s still worth the drive to Bridgeport, CT as the store is both massive and quite impressive. Overall, I still recommend this place.
