Simple and painless alternative to driving though New York City and to get off Long Island. My one gripe is the food offered which is expensive but isn't the worst. At the Port Jefferson terminal, there are a lot of great nearby food options within walking distance as long as you arrive early. On the Bridgeport side this is not the case as the terminal is very secluded from the nearby area. It would be nice if they could negotiate better food contacts or found some better solutions to what they currently offer. No signs pointing to the elevator which was a major inconvenience because of course we walked the wrong way and couldn’t get around the cars which were packed in like sardines. Neither of could do stairs so had no choice but to try and try again to get through the maze. No staff assisted. Snack bar had dried out food and nothing fresh, let alone nutritious. You either park on the street in ghetto Bridgeport or there are some parking lots across the tracks where you can park for a fee. There is access to the docks under the tracks so the walk is short. There is also a shuttle. I had to dig for the info as the gate attendant has the IQ of a cod fish and insisted there was no other place to park but the street.
