stopped by for lunch due to a recommendation from a friend. the place had just opened and already has a steady traffic - which is a great sign. started off w some yellow rice & pernil. didn't initially see any pernil in the front but I guessed they have it in the back only? it's a good thing I'm familiar w the food but my companions I was with would have not known that they were available to even asked for. the rice was a bit mushy. pernil was excellent. not too salty, on the lighter side but that's preferable for me. skin was super crispy! paired it w some maduros (fried plantains) and tostones (fried mashed green plantains). also ordered the fried potato ball. I don't know it's name and kept asking the lady what it's called but the language barrier was thick. nevertheless, we also got 10 wings and some rotisserie/fried thighs. the wings were very tasty and flavorful. nice crunch and still juicy inside. squeezed some lime on them for an extra level of flavor. reminded me of Peruvian wings. I didn't have any of the rotisserie/fried chicken but my buddy who had it said they were muy bien! overall: spacious, wasn't overly packed, and cleaned establishment. we enjoyed the food and would definitely come back if the mood calls for it.

If I could, I'd give this 3.5 stars. The Service was ok, but nothing special. The prices are not cheap, we paid $94 for 2lbs of blood sausage, 8 potatoes balls, 1 mofongo and one plate of dine in food, but it's not as pricey as other places either. Parking is tight as it is a busy place, though it's high turnover. The place is pretty clean and open spaced. The food is nothing particularly special, but it is mostly made fresh for you which I really appreciated. Overall, I would recommend it and will come back back here in the future at some point. Next time I will stick to the Morcilla, Bolitas de papa and maybe some mofongo

Very disappointed. I drove miles to get food from the restaurant I love in Bridgeport. I order the yuca and morcilla. The morcilla was fully loaded with rice. The taste was horrible like eating old rice (abombado) and the yuca had pork fat and cilantro over powering the taste on the yuca it tasted like pure Sofrito. The price was ridiculous. $54 for 2 medium coconut ice and 1 large palcha plus the yuca and the morcilla. We ordered to go. Did not sit inside the restaurant.

I’m not the type of person to give bad reviews, but if I could give ZERO stars I would. I’ve had multiple bad experiences as a customer and as an Uber Eats driver. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt (bad day, things going on at home, etc.), which is why I even came back as a customer in the past, but it’s overall trash garbage. The staff is incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. Not greeting people when they walk inside their establishment and ignoring people when they come to pick up deliveries are two of many issues I’ve had. If you aren’t PR or Spanish speaking, then they will not tend to you first!!! I’ve had this experience too as a customer buying food too. Let me tell you about my experience today though.

I went to the counter to pick up an Uber Eats Delivery, and no one greeted me or told me they be right with me when they were finished- nothing/no communication. There was quite a few people back there. There was a lady who finished making this customers food and went to the register to ring her out. While someone else was bagging the food she just stood there waiting for the other employee to finish bagging her food when she could’ve helped me. I was standing there first, but anyway. After she rung the lady out she went to go restock cups, COMPLETELY disregarding that I was there as if I didn’t exist. I waited there for about seven minutes before an older man came from the back to help me. The women there are rude and acted childish the whole time, talking to each other when they have customers waiting.

The older man that works there was the only one who helped me and now that I think of it, it was him the other couple of times who helped me when the women were standing there doing absolutely nothing.

They should fire the whole staff and get brand new people because the trashy and appallingly dreadful attitudes are not it.

I’ve eaten here before too, and the worst part is their food isn’t even all that good!! You can’t be rude to customers AND have bad tasting food.

Such horrible experiences. 0/5...

I’m rating them at two stars because they have good food and lack luster customer service. It really frustrates me when businesses feel they are doing so well that individual interactions don’t matter. The last time I went there I ordered chicken and rice and mofongo de carne frita. They told me it would take 30 mins. they were also out of rice- this was at 2:52- no problem I go back to my car 30 mins later they tell me there is no carne frita and still no rice…. Then another server tells me they do have my mofongo order but still no rice so I get a refund for one and wait another 10 minutes for it. I go all the way back home and there’s only a plate of beef! Open and sloppy. I understand mistakes happen but when I go back I ask to speak to a manager stood there for 10 minutes and he/she never comes. It’s now 4:50! When a server addressed me and I told them what happened and that I wanted a refund he told me it’s open and he can’t take it back… They got my order wrong and then tried not to refund me. Finally a woman walks by him and says just give her her money back. As if I was inconveniencing them! No one apologized at all! And the server who handled it was rude and to top it off my refund was $7 short. I will never go there again. It’s too many local Spanish restaurants with better...

This is obviously a local favorite, that’s as far as it goes. Known for their PuertoRican Coquito We made the drive to try it. We stood in the line that said Ice cream only and that got us no where. Then we decided to let’s just get a plate of food and then enjoy some cowuito so we joined the other line. As we waited on line we already knew service was bad but tried to endure through it. They had 5 people working behind the counter. Two of them just talking one of them serving the other two just floating. Here’s where it goes bad. The one young man working was serving the customers in front of us. The young lady working with him sees us on line with others but chose to stand there and enjoy causal conversation with here fellow worker and pretend to be wiping the counters down, smh. Mean while she sees there’s a line and no attempt to serve anyone. Rather than question it we just chose to walk out as we were out of our environment.

I’m sure there are many other places in the area to enjoy good food which we will explore. Coquitos is not one of them. The owner obviously has a problem and hope he recognizes this before it’s to late. Unfortunately we will not be returning and I hope other thinking of going there for the first time read this review prior to visiting this...
