I have been going to M, since I moved back to Brighton, almost 5 yrs ago. I will not go anywhere else as I had once listened to former coworkers about a place in Howell and of course I should have known better. For somebody who has been getting her nails done for almost 20 yrs now, I definitely will continue to stay faithful to Monique and her amazing and skilled staff. Kim is fabulous for art and design, and Michelle can carry a great conversation. Monique is a lovely lady I adore her, she is always so charming, sweet, helpful, and always looks stunning. The establishment is always clean and nicely decorated. I have had some issues here and there with a nail job, but nothing that was so terrible that I felt I needed to complain about. Ie: nail power not fully cleaned off prior to shellac, making a single nail have a bump or two, or sometimes a nail is filed a lil crooked but again, these are things I notice while studying the nails after they're done. But definitely nothing anyone else would notice. So I let those minor once in awhile things slide as for the most part 99% of the time my nails look amazing and I keep going back for more. I am a bartender so I have always done something on my nails funky or fun so they always expect me to ask for something of the sort. Monique always knows this and is always happy to show me her new shellac colors or designs. That in which makes me feel welcomed and cared about by her as I walk in the door. They have new shellac that I knew I would be getting the other day as they showed me the colors last month, so I ran right in a few days all excited to get the new glistening color. They turned out great! I included photos. They also can handle a large group for a bridal party or will always try to fit you in last minute. They practice extreme measures to keep it sanitary at all times, but especially during this ridiculous "pandemic". Thank you to all of the staff at M Nails, you have a repeat customer with me to the point that even if I move soon out of the area, I will drive to get...
Read moreOvercharging clients!!! I came here with my 6 year old for a mani-pedi for both of us. We got to the check out and were charged $75 MORE than the prices listed online. I asked for a receipt 3 times at check out, and because of the language barrier, I only received a credit card receipt instead of an itemized receipt. I didn’t want to make a big stink in front of my daughter because it was busy and it was supposed to be a special day for us. But I got home and called them to ask about the pricing and being over charged. They said their ONLINE PRICES ARE NOT UPDATED because they were “on vacation,” but if I came in, the brochures at the counter have updated prices.
Also worth noting… the person who did my nails hovered over me while leaving a tip amount. She was literally standing over me watching how much I put in for a tip.
I explained how morally and ethically wrong this is to charge someone more than their listed prices. He cut me off and spoke over me several times, didn’t let me explain, and told me I was wrong over and over again. I debated on even leaving a bad review because I don’t think it’s right to badger businesses, but I cannot get over how hard I work for my my money and how okay they thought it was to overcharge their clients!
Their response to my Google review said I never received services there. Then my review was suddenly gone. This picture is proof of my OVERcharges from M Nail Salon in Brighton, Michigan. This business owner is relentless.
Edit to add: The owner responded to THIS review by saying he wasn’t there, which he was there, and would like to make it right, but he...
Read moreI'd gone to a few nail salons before settling in at M Nail Salon and honestly I'm not even sure other places could be considered competition. Everyone working there is so sweet and amazing at what they do, especially my current nail tech, Tram! The one thing I'm always willing to spoil myself to is a full set of acrylics and I always leave feeling like the set I got is better than the reference photos I show to her.
The atmosphere is lively and modern and even if your tech (whoever that may be) is quiet, I don't think it ever feels awkward! They're always willing to hear you out and ask how you're doing and checking in throughout the session that they're styling your nails the way you'd like. I will say that IF that isn't the case, don't hesitate to let them know what you're looking for or edits they should make; They're very accommodating as long as you're forthright about the idea you have in mind! Reference photos are always a good thing to have on hand in case you can't communicate your idea properly.
I've found, while being with Tram, that it's fun going in with something in mind, but only having a loose expectation of how it'll turn out. No set will be exactly alike and if you accept that while also letting your nail tech have some creative freedom you'll get gorgeous nail art you wouldn't expect~
I'm so appreciative of this place! I don't go anywhere without catching a few compliments and I wish I could repeat all of them back to you guys because they're so right. Thank you for my...
