Stopped in a few weeks ago with my husband and daughter. We had been out for a ride on the bike path and realized we didn’t have a toolkit and needed to tighten the wheels on our bike trailer. I also wanted to see if they had an e-bike in stock that I wanted to test ride. Another family was leaving just as we walked in so we were the only customers. As we walked in, I asked if they carried the Rad Wagon e-bike. Man behind the counter was very rude and said no, Rad doesnt sell to independent dealers. I paused because i didnt think that was true and tried to laugh it off and say I noticed they dont seem to have many dealers in New England, but he doubled down and said no, Rad doesnt have any independent dealers. Weird, but ok. I noticed then they had Aventon and was going to ask how the Aventon cargo bike compared, but my husband asked about the bike tools before I had a chance and the man behind the counter was so brusque and said nope were out, even as I saw them under the display case, so I decided we didnt need to waste his time anymore since this guy clearly didnt want to do business with us so we left. No idea why— maybe he didnt want my 4-year old in his shop, maybe because my husband and I are heavier and don't look like bikers (never mind that we had just ridden the 14 miles to Bristol towing our daughter in the trailer). Got home and looked at the Rad website and they have hundreds of independent dealers, just none in our neck of the woods. Such a...
Read moreGot stranded with a popped tire on my ebike just 10 minute car drive away from this bike shop. Was going to be a 40 minute walk to it, arriving 20 minutes before closing, called to verify had tire in stock and that they’d be able to change the tire. They were SO RUDE, especially Mike/Mark, who said “I can do it if I’m not busy doing something else.” Explained we were literally stranded 1.5h bike ride from our home (way more by walking) and we’d compensate him well if he’d stay late to make sure the tire was on, otherwise husband would be walking bike back 40m to me, biking 1.5h home on our functioning bike, and driving our car back to pick up stranded me. His response? “we’re leaving at 5 [pm].” I’m honestly shocked. Luckily my husband was picked up by a kind stranger and was dropped off at the shop well over 30m from closing. 2 stars because he sold us a tire out the goodness of our wallet that my hubby put on himself (he didn’t offer to help change tire anyway; let husband use their wrench). Seriously investing in whatever it takes to avoid this experience...
Read moreWhat a great ride! We contacted them ahead of time to learn about taking e-bikes to Prudence Island for the day. They gave us great info and took our reservation. We showed up right as they opened in the day of our trip. They got us checked in, gave us a quick e-bike lesson, and got us on the way in no time. The bikes came equipped with baskets, and helmets were available. They let us know they’d wait for us before they closed if the ferry was running a few minutes late, which eased our stress a lot! The shop is only about 2 blocks to the ferry so we got there in plenty of time. The day was amazing- we rode the e-bikes from one end of the island to the other and looped around the middle a couple of times. The e-bikes made it fast and easy! Taking the bikes on the ferry was easy, and affordable. We returned late afternoon and got the bikes checked back in in less than 2 minutes. Great advice, great service, and we loved...
