We came here for brunch on Sunday and overall based on the reviews I had really high hopes. I’m thinking this place probably specializes in dinner and is trying out brunch to see how it goes. We were greeted when we came in and received great service for our waitress, she was very attentive and made sure we had enough water. The brunch menu has quite a few fried options on it- we would have love to see more fresh options like a salad or maybe something different than fried potatoes to go with a fried sandwich. I noticed the overarching theme for the dishes we got was the execution just didn’t quite hit. The flavor profiles lacked depth but had the potential to be really good. The coffee was pretty bitter and not quite hot enough. The waffle in the chicken and waffles was tasty but the chicken although it had a good breading the inside was homemade seitan and it had a really heavy gluten flavor. I think with some small improvements this place could hit the mark. Obviously I love to see more vegan options- as a 10 year vegan myself. I would like to come back and try the dinner options. Improvements: more veg heavy options for brunch, don’t fry the rosemary potatoes- roast them, change your coffee from machine made to maybe a fresh press and or offer barista beverages. Vegan eggs Benedict would be lovely Homemade biscuit breakfast sandwiches would be great as well. Like I said- a lot...
Read moreA tiny quiet but welcoming place with good service and good food. The person that answered the phone was nice. The chef was friendly and checked on how the food was. You get a high end feel but it's not uppity. We've found that a lot of higher end places have dishes that taste like they poured salt all over them, so it's nice this place doesn't do that. The butter trio was fun for the table and really good. The mocktail was good, I just wanted more and less ice please 😅 The three of us all shared our entrees because everything was so good but I secretly didn't want to share my 'crab' cake at all. Despite it being a little more money than we'd typically spend on meals we had to get dessert. And if you're reading this, YOU have to get dessert. It was so good. I hate that I had to share any of it. The strawberry rhubarb crumble and key lime mousse were both to die for. Prior to moving out of state I'd gone here and had a good experience too so it's nice to see they are still on the ball with everything. Our group consisted of one vegan, one vegetarian and one meat eater. All were satisfied. Besides the ice in the drink we have no complaints, critiques or suggestions. Thank you for...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Foglia and it was amazing just like the first time. We decided to sit at the bar and my friend and I both ordered the special cocktails- Mezcal Margarita and Smoked Pear Apple Sangria. Both of you drinks were delicious and wonderfully crafted! The amuse bouche was a nice treat to start the meal. We started our meal off with the kale salad which was perfectly dressed. It had the right amount of ingredients and the combination was delicious. For our main course we decided to share the Arancini and the Rigatoni Ala Vodka with a side of the foccacia. I loved that the arancini had a lot of peas and the flavor was nice and somewhat smokey with the tomato sauce it was paired with. The Rigatoni Ala Vodka was probably my highlight of the night. The sauce was creamy but light and had a nice touch of spicy to it. Absolutely delicious! The foccacia was fresh and perfect to soak up the rest of the vodka sauce. We were very full from dinner so we passed on decide but were treated with homemade warm mini chocolate chip cookies that were the perfect sweet treat to top off the meal. Thank you for the amazing meal, Chef! See...
