I'm disappointed to say the least. I've come in here a few times ans everytime that I do I feel like some over-priced product is being shoved in my face for me to buy. I've bought and received a few things.
First of all, I was given a sugar scrub. The label and the actual sent do not smell alike, which appears to be a common problem for this shop. The sent smelled like watermelon, which is not an offered sent. The scrub itself dissolved in 30 seconds and was almost useless for an exfoliate. The scrub also left this horrible greasy feeling that REFUSED to come off of my skin .With hot water and many rounds of soap did I finally get it off. The sent was so faint I could not even smell it on me afterward either. This is again another issue I have with all of their products I have tried.
The body butter. The body butter is not terrible. It feels a bit greasy , however, again, it doesn't have much of a sent to it. You would be better off using coconut oil to hydrate your skin instead of this $16 disappointment.
The soap. The soap smells so strong. I can smell it across a room, and it's nice. However, as I've mentioned before, they don't really smell as listed the coconut DOES NOT smell like coconut at all. The birthday cake smels like vannila, which isn't a stretch, so it's pretty accurate. The problem is that it still does not linger. The soap suds up nice. It's a little awkward to hold, but nice. Still, I'm upset that one of the point of having sented soap IS TO SMELL THE SOAP AFTER YOU WASH!! These SOAPS do not do that very well!
The laundry. I also received some laundry wash. This is the only good thing in this store. The sent I received was magnolia, it was pleasant. Remained on my clothes through the wash and is very easy to use. The price is oh so much. If you're interested in more pure products to wash your clothes, this might be a good idea to try.
The store itself. The store is very organized, everything has labels of smells, however the price is not listed on everything. I have no idea if this is just a way to trick people into not realizing how much something is. Smell it and want it before finding out the little 3.5" shave soap is $10. The staff is quite friendly, sometimes. I've been in there a few times, and sometimes some of them mind their business and make some soap. When you ask a question, they answer it, no strings attached. Other times, they answer it and then recommend ridiculously overpriced holders and other products. Their little silicon soap holder is $7, which can be found online for as low as $4.84. I've come in and bought one item here and there, and I remember this woman talking to these older ladies trying to get them to buy some hair care products. Talking about how much she just loves them and how they have to have it now!! Meanwhile, I'm standing 6 feet away, trying to get her attention so I can pay and leave for about 3 minutes before someone else notices me and helps check me out politely.
Overall. This place is nice to visit, the staff are okay, but I doubt I will be back ever again.
**After reading the honestly hilarious review from the owner I have decided to clarify one thing. Just because you are a small business does not make you immune to bad reviews. Reviews are meant to PUBLICLY state your experience. In which the owner is also upset I am doing. I did not have a good experience. Unfortunately because of this experience I am choosing to share it on the internet so others can see my experience and take it into consideration...
Read moreThe store is beautiful to visit! I love our Magnolia Soap products! I have been to every store in Tulsa.
The shower oil is my favorite to apply after shower to combat my dry skin! I love that I can choose my scent!
I also love the bar soap and loofah that we put the bar inside... so its easier to use than those chemically unsafe soaps sold in bog box stores! No need to even open a bottle! Each of my family members has their own color and their own soap!
We recently started using Magnolia Soap bar shampoo and bar conditioner! This was something their staff educated me about, most recently! Everytime I returned to MS, I see something I didn't notice before and learn something new!
I also love their candles! I, now, only buy their candles due to the cleanliness of them. I appreciate knowing they are not emitting toxins into the air of my home.
If you haven't been to a Magnolia Soap, I highly recommend you check it out! Your skin will...
Read moreLove their soap when it is made right.... I have been buying soap for over 2 years now and always pay for extra shot of scent however the time before last my 2 soap containers were not filled up all the way 2nd time by the same person as a different visit, and not as strong as normal. My last visit just a few days ago I feel he barely put any scent at all in it and didn't fill to the top on one of my tubs. I went back to the mall to double check as I got this one in BA and one before at the mall and there def is a difference in scent. I have complained before and Leslie at the mall was very adamant that they should be filled to the top and apologized for this. I just hope this gets to the owner and it's made right. Store hours make it hard for me to get to the store during the week but hoping it gets fixed and no more issues, expensive soap to not get what you paid for. Pics are from 2 different visits, one BA on left mad...
