Our group of 2 (date night) completed the Museum Heist on January 27, with the help of our game master Russell. I’d like to point out that private room bookings are awesome! Not a lot of escape room companies allow for small groups. We didn’t know ahead of time that the Museum Heist was better suited for large groups, so we had our handful of challenges. Russell was polite and fun to work with, and helped us get out in time! We struggled to see how clues fit together (we found a bunch at one time but didn’t know how they correlated to move the game forward), so that was a little frustrating. Overall, we had a great experience and will absolutely go back to try more rooms!
Edit: UPDATE! We have now gone back to Breakout two more times since this review. We broke out of the Kidnapping with Christina as our game master. It was much easier for two people to complete than the Museum Heist.
On April 11, we did Do Not Disturb (sequel to Kidnapping) with Joseph. This one was awesome! More high-tech than The Kidnapping and worked well for two people. Joseph helped us with little clues when needed, but we were pretty successful on our own in this one. We’re excited to go back and try the new Mystery Mansion next!
Edit: We have now completed all escape rooms at this location! We did Casino as a group of four and would say it was an “okay” room. My boyfriend and I have also done Mystery Mansion and Hostage. Both of which were noteworthy! The set designs were well thought out and we enjoyed the themes. Some puzzles were challenging, but ultimately we did escape. We recommend this location, and Russel & Joseph as game masters! The staff welcomed us each time we came back; felt like seeing old friends. We hope new rooms are in the...
Read moreHaven't been to Breakout for quite some time. Was excited to have a day off and get to visit to play a room. Gamemaster was very disappointing. He stumbled through his directions at the very start of our experience. One of the instructions was that the entire group had to agree with getting a clue. Either the equipment he was using wasn't working well, or he wasn't paying attention (possibly distracted by running another room at the same time as ours). We would state that we wanted a clue and then tell him we agreed. He'd ask us if we all agreed, thus showing he wasn't paying attention to us. When he would give clues, he'd either tell us something we already knew/had done (more proof of not paying attention) or would be condescending in tone. Also, when we first arrived, we were given a lackluster welcome. When a member of our party stated she needed to use the restroom before our game, we were told it was still out of order. The manner in which we were told led us to believe it's an issue that's been ongoing and isn't a priority of any kind. In fact, our gamemaster didn't even know it was still out of order. Though we have a room we've yet to do, it is unlikely we will return for it. Had much better experiences with Breakout Game - Milwaukee in the past, definite shame they've...
Read moreWe had Jake as our worker to help us. I was very impressed with this escape room. I have done about 4 of them now, but it was the first one I've done with my son who is 7 (almost 8). I had to pay a little more being just the 2 of us, but I think it was worth it. All escape rooms are a little pricey for the hour, but when do in larger groups with this one, the rate is cheaper !! Not many escape rooms allow children under 10 and hes been begging to do one with me, so its awesome I could take him. The puzzles were tough and I love how much they make you think- but you can get unlimited clues!!! . We had so much fun. Jake was so helpful and courteous to us, and he even helped give my son clues in a way that let him still think for himself. He also let us finish even tho we didnt make It through and was so patient. That is not always the case when I take my son to do things, so that stood out to me the most! Great service, great escape room experience. We will be back and bringing friends! Ps, for all wondering about masks--- Jake wore a mask, and I was informed they clean and disinfect after...
