Potbelly — Restaurant in Brookfield

Horrible customer service! I went in to get a sandwhich and everyone was VERY dry towards me as if they did not want to service me. I get to the cash register to purchase my food, the cashier, her name is Kiel, had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. She, just like the other employees, was very dry towards me and did not inform me on the advertised free cookie just as she did with the other customers. I asked for a shake and stepped to the side to allow the customers behind me to pay for their food and her attitude completely changes. She spoke with a bright smile on her face. She was very energetic and helpful with those customers but I was treated as if I didn't belong. I step up to the counter again to get my shake, she hands it to me and that was it. No "have a great day!" Or anything. I say thank you and she completely ignores me and continues whatever she had to do. I'm not sure if it was because I'm an African American woman or what it was but it's not an excuse to give poor customer service to anyone, especially those who come in and spend their hard earned money. Total disappointment, never going back...

Im starting off by saying I used to love eating here but my last visit which was a few months ago left a bad taste in my mouth. That goes for the overall experience! Also be warned dont expect to have your issue ever fully solved communication is poor and they don't live up to what they tell you. My husband and I had gotten food poisoning from an order. A $50 order at that! I was supposed to receive a full refund and a call from corporate received neither! Only a couple coupons for free sandwiches... You really think I want more of your food when we threw up within moments of eating our sandwiches? Both of us? That's not coincidence! Told them the date and time of order couldn't find it in system! Wow lets just not find a $50 order! Never again! I tried to be nice and wait for a resolution but apparently customers don't matter! AVOID AVOID AVOID! If you want quality service and food go somewhere else! This is why I rarely go out to eat anymore anyways! So...

The staff are unkempt and really don't display proper customer service although they're not the worst I've seen or dealt with. Some of the sandwich makers had long hair with no hairnets to restrain their hair, so I wouldn't be shocked if someone (myself included) would've gotten hair in their food during this particular visit. It seems as if none of the management teams at any of these restaurants are enforcing standard sanitation guidelines. This was one of the few times I ate out for lunch because I hadn't packed one of my own. Otherwise, I would've gladly eaten food that I knew was properly prepared. You have to proceed with caution whenever you're dining out these days. These employees don't have even the slightest regard for handling food that they themselves won't be eating. I would've given them 0 stars, but the dining area was in decent shape. Perhaps that should account...
