Mid-Century Meow — Local services in Brookfield

Oh my gosh! We walked in here with no expectations and a sparse budget. We don't have a mid-century house but many of our pieces trend MCM or high-quality MCM replicas. We were looking for a small bar cabinet for a back wall behind our couch. We saw a couple on Wayfair so were looking to stay around $400. I saw on Mid-Century Meow's FB page two pieces that looked interesting. We took the drive from Racine to Brookfield and were immediately impressed with the high quality and diverse inventory in the store. We were greeted by Aricka and told her what we were looking for. I told her the pieces I was interested in and immediately knew her pieces were out of my budget and asked her to keep us in mind if something came up in our ballpark. Aricka asked us several questions suggested a couple alternatives and my spouse and I went back and to a 2nd look at the two pieces. We had a sideline conversation that was provoked by Aricka's inquiries. We wound up purchasing the taller of the two pieces and I don't mind saying it was $200 more than our budget. Aricka did an excellent job getting to the root of what was important to us and we are so happy and thankful to her for her thoughtful insights. MC Meow is a great place if you are interested consumers of MCM but not experts. No snobbery at this store. Highly recommend! ...

This was my first time engaging with Mid-Century Meow and I was the furthest thing from disappointed. A friend told me about this place. Aricka was super energetic and attentive to my online inquiry. Heard back within moments of writing to her and of course she was able to find exactly what I was looking for. At the store, she was very disciplined with health precautions, distancing, and making sure that herself and her customers were safe which is so critical. I was able to pick up my order same day. My glasses were well packaged for my drive home and she even added in a few extra glasses to the set. She was super friendly & prompt, great at communicating, and was able to both respond to inquiry and fulfill my order same day. My partner and I went into Mid-Century Meow looking for nightstands. Given we have a modern (aka new) bed the overall height that we were looking for was ~27".

Ericka was a wealth of knowledge, informing us that the average nightstand height was ~22" and that 25" would be almost the tallest nightstands that we could find that were indeed from the period.

It was very clear that Ericka commands a deep understanding and knowledge of true mid-century pieces. I couldn't recommend her shop more for a truly curated collections of amazing pieces.
