I've been going to Gamestop for over 20 years and honestly after today's interaction, I will no longer be giving this company my business. The fiasco that is the MTG Final Fantasy collectors box drop that went side by side with a Pokémon collectors box as well as two other Pokémon sets was disappointing. They had between 20 and 30 of each Pokémon box sets, yet only 4 MTG Final Fantasy collectors boxes. Those got scooped up real quick by people who were allowed to buy both the Pokémon collectors box and MTG FF box sets. There was literally a group of four people who were together and bought 14 of these products combined. The straw that broke the camels back though was when I asked about a game (Clair Obscur Expedition 33) I was told would be in today, been asking for a month, and when I asked if they could put it aside for me and I would come pick it up immediately, I got a no because "the game is in high demand". Yeah no shit, I've been trying to get a copy for a month. So I left and then came back an hour later to get a refund of my pre-order for Ghost of Yoteiand told them I will not longer be shopping there anymore. No empathy or effort to try and keep a customer from either individual, one of which was the manager. The level of customer service at Gamestop is so poor. I literally just ordered a hard copy brand new of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 on Amazon. I could have done that a month ago but I wanted to give my local Gamestop my money instead. Not anymore. Also they quickly killed a new hobby for me which was getting into Magic the Gathering, so thanks for allowing me to see the scummy side of TCG games and how...
Read moreI've never had a problem with a Gamestop, until now. I was looking for a puzzle game for my elderly mom, and was excited this Gamestop had it. I place a hold, received a confirmation email it was ready for pick-up and drove to the other side of town all within 5.5 hours. When I arrived at the store, the game was placed back on the sales floor and sold. Whoever grabbed the game did not mark it as a hold. What I found most annoying is the sale person or manager, who I spoke with, didn't bother to see if another store in the area had it or if it could be order, only offered a discount on different game within the store and hollow sorry. I have the elite membership which already gives a discount, and the only game I was looking to purchase was the one I placed on hold. I would be careful with placing holds at this location and suggest calling ahead before...
Read moreNothing like spending $750 for an xbox bundle, then going to the store to get partial in store credit on the game it comes with(yes I knew ahead of time it would only be worth about 1/3 of its purchase value), only to be met with assumptions that the was stolen because it was brand new with wrapping. Instead of being asked if we had the receipt, or letting us know that they would need a receipt to trade the game in, the first thing I was told was "we don't trade in games with the wrapping because of theft" glad the manager hiding in the back of the store was able to clear things up, so we could take another 20 minutes figuring out how to apply a gamestop gift card that was provided to me... from gamestop...for purchasing the Xbox bundle... Don't go to this location, you will be sorely...
