Horrible horrible experience. I decided to come here because of the good reviews, and I was very disappointed. The place looked somewhat busy especially the outdoor seating on a Saturday at 10am, so we asked the hostess how long the wait was. She said 40-45 minutes for a table of two. We asked how long the to go time was and she told us that it would be a lot faster. So we went inside and ordered the chicken and waffles to go and french toast. Our order was taken right away and although it was pricy (~$37 for those two things) we expected it to be at least decent. We were told it would be 20 minutes, and to wait outside for it and that she would come give us our order when it was ready. We waited 25 minutes, nothing. People that got there after us got their to go orders before us and people that joined the seating waiting list after we got there were seated and got served their food while we waited. So I went to check on our order inside, and the girl that took our order said that they just got the order in for an 18 top table, so that it would be a while and that like she said, she would come get us when it was ready. I honestly felt like they forgot about our order and they kept doing other things instead. I popped back in a couple more times in the span of 20 MORE minutes and nothing. My order wasn’t ready. I looked at the table they have set up with to go orders and mine wasn’t on there. I popped in 10 minutes later and I saw my order finally on the table, so I grabbed it and left because no one was even directing the to go orders anymore. Everyone that worked there was running around, everything just seemed very chaotic because I understand because I’ve worked in the restaurant business when I was younger, but I do think their customer service and attentiveness could be vastly improved. 5 minutes after I picked up the order, we finally sat down to eat. Our food was cold, like it had been sitting there for a long time. The waffle from my chicken and waffles was soggy, which I assume was from the chicken, because it was oozing with oil. The chicken was disgusting, the breading portion was oozing off everywhere, and inside there was so much oil I couldn’t even bring myself to take a second bite. I wish I could say something better about the French toast, but I unfortunately can’t. The bread was dry and had no flavor other than an overwhelming amount of butter, and the fruit on it tasted sour like it was about to expire, I think the only thing that tasted good was the small pieces of banana, which they of course is one of the only things they didn’t make. Everything was horrible, I don’t know how in good conscience they could sell this to customers. If you’re looking for a good breakfast place, this is NOT it. Go to snooze or something else. At least there you’ll somewhat get your moneys worth and your time’s worth. I can’t believe I waited almost an hour for this “food”.

When you come here, you will find large, delicious servings of well-made breakfast meals in a cozy, busy space. I have been twice. The first time was on a busy weekend morning when the space was filled with customers and buzzing with energy. My second visit was on a more quiet weekday morning. Both times the food was delicious, the service was prompt and personal, and the experience as a whole was enjoyable. I had the huevos rancheros - very good, exceptionally good in every way - but I missed having refried beans. Please note: that's a very small caveat for an otherwise splendid dish. The next time, I ordered the "Do You Have a Burrito" breakfast burrito, which was massive and very tasty. One of the staff told me proudly that everything is made from scratch at the restaurant... except for the sour cream. The sausage, for example, was perfected over time by the head chef/cook and is created according to her recipe by a nearby butcher using local ingredients. As I considered my experience at this restaurant - oh, the roasted potatoes were perfect - the phrase "esprit de corps" came to mind. Now, I thought I know what it meant, but I wasn't absolutely sure, so I looked it up. Merriam-Webster says: "the common spirit existing in the members of a group and inspiring enthusiasm, devotion, and strong regard for the honor of the group." I did feel that was a part of my Early Bird visit. There was a spirit among the staff that was enjoyable, almost as enjoyable as the delicious food.

I had tried this location years ago and was not impressed, but decided it was time to try again and I’m very happy that I did. I like that they have lots of fun names and combinations on the menu, but also have a “Keeping It Simple” section as well. For example I wanted a breakfast burrito and at first I saw their “Do You Have A Burrito”, but I’m not interested in guacamole, sour cream, and pico on a breakfast burrito. On back of the menu they have the The Smothered Burrito”. Same burrito, but pick one thing to smother it in. (Pork Green Chile, Sausage Gravy, or a salsa) Both in the breakfast burrito and the open face omelet (just not folded over) the eggs were fluffy and flavorful. The Belgian Waffle was also the perfect blend of crisp and soft. And while their maple syrup is not 100% maple it was clearly largely maple and not corn syrup with food coloring. They were bustling and busy, but our food still came up quickly and refills on drinks were good. They even had a small carafe with two glasses worth of ice tea in it available. Izzy (Isabel) our server was friendly and as interactive as we cared to be despite her multiple tables. She despite still being in high school had better interactive people skills than many servers and bodes well for the staff training.

In my opinion, it's the best breakfast restaurant in Broomfield/ Westminster, and potentially in the Denver metro area. Their Biscuit & gravy, chicken & waffles and BLTs are definitely crave worthy! I've never had a bad meal here.

EDIT: I hate having to edit my review because this is still my favorite local breakfast place, but we had a bit of a negative experience here recently that has caused me to revise my review. My family and I have been eating here for years and have done so dozens of times. They have 3 or 4 tables outside the front of the restaurant, where there are usually customers eating in the warmer months. Usually 1 of them has a dog. We've never brought our dog here because we prefer to eat inside, but last week we happened to be in the area after a long dog walk and thought we could eat outside. We waited and told the restaurant manager, who we have come to know over the years, that our dog was with us and he said "no problem!" Great guy. So then our server comes out, who has waited on us before with no complaints, and basically rants about "People" bringing their dogs to the restaurant, and says he's been bitten so many times, etc. We just sat there while he ranted for a bit and then took our drink order. We felt really awkward as I know this server has been there since the beginning. So every time he would come out to the table, he would stand as far from my 12 year old, docile labradoodle, on the other side of the table as possible. I absolutely LOVE this place for breakfast and have always felt so comfortable here, but on this day I just wanted to leave. I feel like there should either be a set policy or a sign in place so that customers don't feel awkward and uncomfortable. I will eat here again (unless we are treated badly again), but this experience really put my wife and I off this place...

Wife and I have been going here frequently for quite some time and have always enjoyed our experience there. But this last time was off. We put our names and phone number in to wait for a spot. The hostess informed us that we would get a text when a table opened up. We waited, and as we waited, we saw 2 couples park and get seated right away. Upon inquiring about this, the hostess told us they accidentally misplaced our number. Questionable, but moving on. We got seated and waited another 5 minutes to get greeted. At this point, I was trying to see this through as this is one of my favorite restaurants. We ordered our food and as we received it, I noticed my pancakes came out but there was no syrup and butter. I wanted to patiently wait for my server to come back, and if anyone would notice I wasn't eating my pancakes, but after another 5 minutes and my stomach growling, I had to flag down a different waiter and ask for some syrup. We finished our food, grumbling and feeling slightly discontent. We got our check, which was the wrong check, and for some reason that was the cherry on top to write this review (attention to detail.) As small business owners ourselves, I'm writing this to inform the staff/management that with all due respect, please revisit the processes and reiterate the importance of the little things, especially in this current environment. The need for warm, welcoming staff, and homerun service is more important now than ever. For the most part the other reviews show this is an excellent place to go and the food is wonderful, but from our previous experience, I'm doubtful we'll be back for brunch...
