Review 1 - Something Rotten Verily, naught rotten hast graced mine eyes in the wondrous performance of "Something Rotten" which I had the privilege of beholding at the Maine State Theatre. This spectacle, I do declare, hath ascended to the very zenith of excellence, leaving an indelible mark upon all fortunate souls assembled in the audience.
The cast of this whimsical take on Shakespeare's world brought the musical to life with impeccable precision and an infectious enthusiasm that was palpable from the very first note. Their dedication to their roles and their seamless chemistry created a mesmerizing synergy that captivated us from the opening curtain to the final bow.
What truly stands out is the perfect blend of comedy and song that graced the stage. Every joke landed with expert timing, evoking hearty laughter. The musical numbers were not just performances, but vibrant expressions of emotion and narrative that added depth to the story.
Review 2 - The Buddy Holly Story I had the delightful opportunity to experience the captivating play "The Buddy Holly Story" at the MSMT. The production was thoroughly enjoyable, showcased in an exceptional venue, and delivered an outstanding performance by the talented cast.
Review 3 - Funny Girl What an exquisite rendition of the light hearted with serious undertones of the rise of a "Funny Girl" breaking into show business in her own way, on her terms. Jenna Lea Rosen played the "Funny Girl" and took us on a journey that captured our hearts from the opening scene. She quietly revealed her voice and than let us know how big a voice she has when she sang people! to a standing ovation. The Maine State Music theatre continues to impress with the quality of the venue and the talent it brings to the stage.
And let's not forget the exquisite venue itself. The Maine State Theatre, nestled in the heart of charming Brunswick, Maine, is an absolute gem.
I eagerly anticipate attending future shows at this remarkable venue nestled in...
Read moreThe venue and theater itself is lovely albeit confusing to find from the elevators within the building. There are doors on both sides of the elevator and when I was attempting to get my 94 year-old mother to our seats in the orchestra I was directed to push level 3,and we ended up in a deserted hallway with two darkened restrooms and some labeled offices with closed doors. Once inside elevator again, I pushed 3A and the opposite door opened to steps that led to a floor level door which ended up being a stage right entrance to the orchestra seating. We were seated all the way stage left in the last seats beside the wall. We had to go up around the back of the audience and down the far aisle to get into our seats. Just as the show was being introduced and the house had gone dark! The show was well worth the confusion and anxiety of finding our seats and the hiking for my mom!🤣 I tell this story for any other audience members who might be attending an elderly person. I hadn't been to this theater in years and had no recollection about getting into the seating areas. The house is short staffed post pandemic and the masks may have caused a communication glitch when we asked how to get to our seats. The show was powerfully moving and kept us on the edges of our seats. The cast is immensely talented. We saw the musical version of The...

We were at the show and it was a life-changing experience. The energy, entertainment and vibe was off the charts. This was an experience we'll never forget, and we'll be purchasing MSMT tickets for...
