Sorry but I was really disappointed in their breakfast burrito, mainly because it was half the size of any I’ve had in the past and just did not fill me up. Also the eggs seemed to be whipped up with milk or something and that detracted from the taste. Not good at all. //// Back again. If you like dark, claustrophobic places with very weird, jumbled, decor, don’t go here. I don’t understand the appeal at all. It tries way too hard to be unique and cool (? - like, I don’t even know). No tortillas so I had to get a gluten-free bun that fell apart at first touch. The “meat of the day” was “something” (Jones?) ham oh ok —-that turned out to be a super salty Spam-like probably canned breakfast meat (of the day). I asked for hot sauce but he assured me “it already had chili crumbles” whatever that is. Whatever that was, it was sweet and not even a little hot. OH Kay. I got it in my belly and sighed, $14 dollars (the bill was $21 and I had a bottle of Kombucha for $6.00?) poorer for the experience. There is a Korean influence going on I think, like I said it’s all jumbled and “eclectic” and all over the place, but I’m in Brunswick Maine so it’s weird and disconcerting. I’m sure the coffee is fine but otherwise, this place is overwhelming and not in a good way, for me. If you want space and calm and a consistent, cohesive menu, I’d try Bohemian coffee, if Ilm allowed...
Read moreStopped in Brunswick briefly on our way to Portland and omg, this place made us wish we booked an Airbnb here instead! From a Kali Ma statue to random framed pictures of Bill Murray, or Christmas lights and New Orleans beads, there’s no shortage of freaking cool things to look at. Then, last but not least theres some BOMB coffee and even more stellar service to rave about. Tried one of the house specials, the cafe bonbon. OMG, it tasted like a coconut Vietnamese coffee. Did not expect that but loved it. Now I understand why a coffee shop on such a sleepy quiet street had a long line out the door. While we waited, couldn’t help but overhear the hilarious conversations between the owner and customers; almost felt as if there was no wait, everyone was treated like friends and family, both locals and tourist passers by alike! Bonus: there’s a nice outdoor...
Read moreA coffee spot that flies in the face of kitsch while openly embracing it as Seinfeld prattles on in subtitled fashion via an old Magnavox tv stationed on the counter. Ben is a master of not just coffee, but also food, conversation, and observation. Hospitable and incessant in quality, Ben is as much of this coffee shop as it is him, and the appeal is apparent. Evidenced by the line of the woefully under-caffeinated mass that curls around the interior of this tiny gem in central Brunswick. To issue a “pro tip”, I would say visit this place multiple times and get used to saying “I’ll have one of everything”. Because you’ll find it’s actually what you want, as FOMO sets in. And please, tip...
