Aside from one generic prescription, my prescriptions can take weeks to obtain--they tell you that they are waiting for more information from the provider, the provider says they are waiting to hear from the pharmacy, the insurance company says that need more information, and the person behind the counter at Hannaford, aside from the pharmacist themselves who are rarely available, offers muddled and unclear answers and timelines, and that there is nothing else they can do. Not only is this poor customer service, but it results in life threatening situations due to lapses between medications. I gave them a lot of slack during the pandemic when they claimed they were short staffed, but nothing has changed. Have definitely lodged complaints.
UPDATE 2/14/2024: if anything service has gotten even worse. I know they are short staffed and that is not their fault, they are doing their best. Their communication is very poor, they do not follow up via phone when they say they will, and when you call in yourself they do not answer the phone. Not having a life sustaining prescription is not the same as having your Uber Eats driver show up late, or your mechanic taking longer than expected to return your vehicle. The management needs to do something to address this--they are putting people's lives in danger.
Update February 2025–their new system has improved wait times somewhat. Contact your doctor’s office for refills, not the pharmacy, because the pharmacy will wait for days and not follow up with your or the doctor. Direct communication with the doctor helps skip this step and shorten wait times. Recently all of my prescriptions switched to auto refill without my permission, even the ones I don’t even need anymore. The technician assured me that that is only possible if I give my permission, which I did not. As a result my healthcare proxy ended up picking up over $100 of scripts that I cannot use. So, clearly there are still...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible service. Started Thursday Dr sent an prescription in late afternoon and he didn’t calculate the amount of pills correctly and was told they had reached out to the dr office for clarification. ok good reason to not be filled when i got there. Next day after work. Stoped in waited in line about 10 minutes then told DR office did not call back yet. But they had called the DR office again. I did not go back over the weekend went in Monday after work wait another 10 minutes in line to discover “The Dr had not called them back”. So This morning about 9 I Call my Dr office who said they had not received and notification from the pharmacy of the issue. I even gave the dr office receptionist the pharmacy phone number to call and get it straightened out. So i get to the pharmacy about 415 this evening wait about 30 minutes inline and get to the counter to be told, “yes they had received the proper prescription from the Dr THIS morning, “ My prescription wasn’t ready. But she could put me on The urgent list and it might be ready in half an hour. I didn’t have time to wait another half hour”Maybe” Left again without out my prescription. REALLY !!!!! this is the worst pharmacy for preparing meds in a timely fashion. And this is the second time this scenario has happened recently the previous time was only two days. And they always say we contact the dr office. But then the Dr off states they have not it just a way to pass the buck and blame someone else for their...
Read moreFeeling very thankful for the pharmacist on duty tonight (12/14)!!! her hair is blonde and looking at my prescription I think her name is Mellisa Oei-Royle. Thank you so much!! I went tonight to pick up a new medication which my insurance wouldn't cover but I did have a manufacturer coupon that I hoped would work, because it is absolutely out of our budget if we had to pay the cash price. I actually had multiple bad dreams last night that the coupon wouldn't work, so when I got there and they tried using the coupon and it didn't work, I was very worried and sad. The pharmacist was so nice and compassionate about the whole thing and said she would call them in the morning and hopefully get it worked out. I went out to my car and had not even driven out of the parking lot when I got a call back from the pharmacist saying she had gotten it to work!! I hurried back in and I don't know how but she managed to get the coupon to cooperate and I was able to get my medicine! I know they were busy and having worked in retail pharmacy for years I know how difficult it can be to find the time to troubleshoot when there is a problem like this. I am so thankful that she took the extra time to try one more thing,it meant the world to me! thank...
