Myself and my husband had a couples massage here, it was our first ever professional massage so we weren’t sure what to entirely expect. The spa is smaller but welcoming and cute, we’re actually about a 2 hour drive from new hope but we’re married in Peddlers Village which is an amazing little shopping scene and it is only about a 5 minute walk from Peddlers Village to this spa so we made a day trip out of it. So we walk in and no one is around, we hear music and there was a door shut so I guess someone was getting a massage and we were supposed to be like pin drop silent, it felt uncomfortable. We’ll I was sitting in the one chair, the other couples massage had ended and the therapist had made a comment to me if I would be more comfortable I could sit at the center table in literally the middle of the room, I said no I’m okay, and thanked her. The second younger therapist had walked out and pretty much had me move to the other table as if it was inappropriate for me to sit at those chairs, maybe don’t have them there or have someone greeting customers then. Needless to say me and my husband sat at the center table awkwardly and could feel the tension, the other couple finished and we were brought back to our room. My lady was really sweet and since they both were made aware it was our first massage my lady seemed to just want me to have a good experience and she really helped me to relax and not feel rushed or like she was pushy. My husbands therapist on the other hand was not so gentle and was pretty abrupt and kind of dismissive. My husbands massage was very different from mine, and the woman was very rough massaging which maybe some people like but especially for our first massage maybe verify the massage is comfortable. I think after how we entered this facility it didn’t make either of us feel very welcome to open up and say hey that’s a little too rough or focus more on these spots because quite frankly we didn’t even know what the massage really entailed. I had wished we went somewhere else for my husbands birthday but it was okay and we both know now to speak up a little more. Overall my lady was great and I really appreciated how sweet she was, the other woman I would not recommend based on how we were treated alone but the massage my husband received was not...
Read moreNormally I never write reviews but after surprising my boyfriend with a couples massage here for his bday last month I am quite shocked by all the glowing reviews which initially had me excited to go! It wasn’t the worst experience ever but the price tag definitely didn’t match what was provided. We won’t be going back. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and nice. She ended up being my masseuse which was kind of odd considering she was in business casual attire. I felt that was a bit weird since my boyfriend’s masseuse was in a company t shirt, yoga pants, and no shoes. The couples room could use some darker curtains, it was really bright in there. The massage tables would creek every time she would push down which got annoying. The overall worst part was the hardwood floors! My masseuse was wearing boot like shoes and every time she’d step it made a huge clunky sound which was not relaxing in the slightest. She also used a roller chair on the hardwood which was insane. The massage was not great. I was expecting to be blown away with the patterns and pressures of a professional technique but I felt very underwhelmed and disappointed. She focused mainly on my back which was fine but spent such a short amount of time on my extremities it didn’t feel evenly balanced whatsoever. My boyfriend would agree that the massage was not great and it was a very difficult environment to relax in. He didn’t feel that his masseuse used any special techniques or delivered a massage worth going back for. I was super excited to have a great experience and try a new place but ended up being sadly disappointed especially for the...
Read moreI went to Puritie Spa about 3 months after knee replacement surgery. I was having a lot of swelling that was impacting my progress in physical therapy. I scheduled a lymphatic drainage massage to see if that process could help. I could not believe the results. The massage dramatically reduced swelling in the area, giving me greater range of motion during my next PT session. Tavia is an excellent masseuse. She knew exactly what to do to move the excess fluid from my knee to my lymphatic area. I also see her for deep tissue massages to help break up scar tissue in the area of my surgery and to help relax tight muscle muscles in my leg. Massage should be a part of everyone’s healing. If you are having challenges with recovery after surgery, I highly recommend visiting Tavia at Puritie Spa. She is a gifted masseuse that will help speed up your recovery. I’m so glad I found Puritie Spa and I wish I found...
